Vaughn eventually slipped into a diner and sat in a booth. He sighed, looking around at the other people in there.
She just watched him, smiling to herself. Crowded area, he's smarter than he looks.

A waitress came over, asking Vaughn what he wanted. He just ordered a cup of coffee.
She watched him closely. She made eye contact with one of the waitresses, her friend Callista. Calli knew her past and her mission.

The waitress eventually came back with the coffee. He mumbled a thanks and took the cup from her.
Her eyes flicked back from her to Vaughn and back. She nodded and walked over. "Hi there!"

(Is the waitress talking to vaughn or is roxanne? I can’t tell because theres no names..)
(Oops! She's talking to Vaughn, Roxanne's outside.)
pets
(That’s what I thought, just making sure)
Vaughn looked up at the waitresses voice. “Hello..” he said slowly. He wasn’t in much of a talking mood, and he set his cup down.
She slid into the seat across from him. "That's a pretty nasty cut you got there."
pets
Vaughn mentally huffed when she sat down. He gave a shrug. “Doesn’t bother me too much,” he commented before taking another sip of the coffee.
"How'd you get it?" She tilted her head curiously.
pets
Vaughn shrugged. “Don’t remember. Probbaly from my sister. She wears those sharp, fake nails,” he asnwered.
Calli glanced out the window and saw the shimmer of the knife in Roxie's sleeve, automatically knowing he was lying. "Oh, it looks like it hurts."
pets
Vaughn shrugged his shoulders again. “High pain tolerance. Doesn’t bother me,” he answered.
"Hmm, interesting." "Calli!" "I've got to go. But it was nice talking to you!" She smiled and headed back behind the counter.
pets
Vaughn hummed in response. He was relieved when she left, and he took another drink of the coffee.
Roxie headed in, taking Callista's spot. "Well well well, fancy seeing you here."
pets
Vaughn’s head snapped up when he saw Roxie. “Stay away from me,” he sneered. “You are a psychopath.”
"Oh so suddenly I'm the only crazy one. Not the murderer across the table, just me. Interesting."
pets
“I’m not a murderer,” Vaughn snapped. “And yes, you are. All those meds, what you did- you’re fucking insane.”
"Yep. Clinically and medically insane. Have been for quite a few years now." She smiled innocently.
pets
Vaughn sneered at that. “My point exactly,” he said.
"I never said you were wrong. I'm just saying that you're crazy too. You see shadows of people that aren't there and hear voices just like I do."
pets
“You don’t know anything. I’m perfectly healthy,” Vaughn said with a frown. The silhouette standing behind him laughed.
"Your medical records and old psychiatrist beg to differ, love."
pets
“Don’t call me that,” Vaughn growled. While she was attractive, he would never think if getting with her.
"Too late. That's just what I do." She shrugged.
pets
Vaughn rolled his eyes. “I’ve had enough of this,” he said as he stood.
She didn't try to stop him. "You know, for someone so attractive, you'd think you know that disgust isn't a good look for you, honey."
