This RP is based off of an alternation of a book I am writing.

Role Play Information

Year: 2212
Location: Earth
Population (of Earth): 10 billion
Setting: North America

Out of every one million people, one is born with inexplicable powers. These powers can range from shape-shifting to flying to invisibility to just about anything, really. They're called Oddities, and they're dangerous. Extremely dangerous. Most regular people hate them. A lot. So the government decided to build special places for all Oddities to live, so that they would be safe from the regular people and the regular people would be safe from them.
Everything seems fine.
Unfortunately, what most people aren't aware of is that the world is full of criminal organizations and gangs that live in the darkness, and that they would absolutely love to take advantage of the situation. Most people don't know that there's a separate world within their own, one of darkness and evil. They go about their daily lives, thinking everything is fine. It's not. It's not fine.
Nothing is what it seems.

Our Plot

Six teenagers find out that they're Oddities, only to be sent to the Oddity Haven– but things never go as planned. They will be taken by one of the aforementioned criminal gangs, and we will see how this goes down. I have some ideas in mind, but things could change. Like I said, things never go as planned. >:3
The RP will begin when they arrive at the Haven.

Ah, yes. You're right; I wasn't thinking of that. I suppose we could make it to where, perhaps, the wings had began growing for some time and she has been trying hard to keep it hidden because she doesn't want to be taken away to the Haven? We can bend the prompt a bit if necessary; after all, it was just a random out-of-the-blue prompt I threw together. If you've ever seen the X-Men movies, one of them shows a young Warren/Angel (a winged character) trying to cut his newly-sprouting wings off with a razor. Your character doesn't have to be doing this, per se, but they could've started growing some time ago and she has been hiding them all this time.

Name: Lindsay Yao
Age: 17
Gender: female
Personality Description: Lindsay can be shy at first, but is actually quite sweet. She tends to speak what’s on her mind, unless it will hurt someone’s feelings. She’d rather hurt herself than someone else, which can lead to her feeling unhappy in several relationships due to holding her feelings in. Lindsay loves to laugh, so while she isn’t very funny herself, she is drawn to people with a sense of humor. Lindsay is a relentless optimist, but she’s not stupid. She’s actually quite smart, though sometimes she can be quite oblivious.
Physical Description: Lindsay has chest-length, ramrod straight black hair with blunt bangs. She has a heart-shaped face and wears glasses (round with clear frames). Lindsay has warm, brown eyes the color of hot chocolate that light when she has an idea and thick, short black eyelashes. Her eyebrows are pretty thin and she has a small nose and thin lips. Her skin is has a golden tan, which she got mostly from genes rather than actually being outside a lot. She has small hands and stands at 5’ 4”. Her usual clothing choices include mom jeans, graphic tees, plaid pants, sweaters, stripes, and the occasional skirt or dress with chunky white sneakers.
Powers: Lindsay has the ability to read minds. It will probably come on slowly, but she can hear the mind of everyone in the vicinity. It’s extremely helpful in small groups or one-on-one, but in large crowds it can be overwhelming and would give her a headache if she stayed in a large crowd too long. It could also be painful for her if the thoughts are from, say, one of the people who kidnapped them about how they want to kill them or experiment on them or something. Lindsay can also send thoughts to others, but if there’s more than one person in the vicinity, it would require intense concentration and skill. Same goes for trying to change someone’s thoughts, but that’s even more difficult.
Brief Backstory: Lindsay lived with her two loving parents and her younger brother. Her life seemed perfect from the outside. However, her family was actually struggling financially and her brother was struggling with his mental health, but Lindsay did her best to be a good older sister. She got a job and things were going mostly okay until she was taken.

Name: Ravenna Iris Aurora Tempest
Age: 23
Gender: female
Personality: Ravenna is a fairly nice person but she can be a total bitch to people she doesnt trust. 
Appearance: Raven has red and black hair. Its is cut short in a waved pixie type style. Her skin is very light. She has colour changing eyes that reflect her emotions but only a few close people know what she is feeling at each moment. She is around 5'5.
Powers: Ravenna has a beautiful singing voice, is able to breath under water and on ground, can see perfectly in both places, is able to talk to sea creatures and is able to shift from her tail to legs as she chooses. Raven is also able to smell jewels.

Name: Makarios Eero (sometimes called Karios, Kari, or Makar by his peers)
Age: 19
Gender: Male
Personality Description: INFJ. Makarios is usually quiet, but he can be incredibly social around people he feels comfortable with. He is very kind-hearted most of the time, often considering the feelings and needs of others. Sometimes, he is overly patient. Many consider him meek. He is not, however, a pushover, and he has a short fuse for those who would dare try to deceive or betray him. He is highly intelligent, and, despite being kind, chooses logic over emotion. He has deep trust issues that make it difficult for him to open up to others, and he has a fluctuating self-esteem. He fears himself and what he may be capable of.
Physical Description: He stands at a good 6'3", and he has a very lanky build. Strength clearly isn't one of his skills, but he is by no means "weak." He has very fair– even pale– skin, and bright blue-gray eyes. Although his exact ethnicity is unknown, he is at dominantly Caucasian. His hair is jet black, a tad curly, and shoulder length. He wears thick-framed black glasses and usually tends to prefer sweaters or hoodies, as well as dark jeans, converse shoes, and often a scarf. No, he is not emo.
Powers: Makarios has the ability to manipulate gravity within a large range of himself, making him sort of extremely telekinetic. He can lessen or increase the gravitational affect on people or objects. He can choose to affect himself only, or he can affect multiple people, or he can affect whole vehicles, cars– entire buildings. It is unknown what exactly his limit is. Currently, he becomes drained if he overuses them– but he tries not to use them at all, because he is afraid that will lose control. He has a good sense of humor, but it can be dry or dark at times. He comes across as kind and friendly, but he is crippled by guilt.
Brief Backstory: Makarios lived a peaceful life with his wheelchair-confined mother and two young siblings. His younger sister was assaulted by her ex-boyfriend, which led Makarios to overreact in her defense. They got into a physical fight, and the adrenaline and stress activated Makarios powers for the first time. Unintentionally, Makarios completely ripped the man in half. Scarred by what he had done, Makarios fled. No one knew that it was him, but the guilt never left. His powers didn't come into use again for a week, and then he was identified as an Oddity when he was at a cafe (he dropped his latte and somehow caught it without touching it). Still, no one knows what he did or how the man he killed died.
