"I'm Mikeal," he said slipping his hands into his pockets and giving her a smile back. He wasn't one to judge people on their appearance, especially after what they had just gone through, so he hardly noticed her hair. "Seems like they chose the roughest pieces of rope they could find to tie us up with."
The joke was a lame attempt to break the ice and he cursed himself mentally after saying it.
“Yeah, they weren’t very comfortable,” Lindsay agreed, not mentioning that she could somewhat read his thoughts. Her headache was beginning to ease a bit, and the more Mikeal talked to her out loud, the easier his thoughts were to pick out from the others. Lindsay tried not to focus too hard, as that only caused her pain to be worse. “Though I can’t say that I would find my hands being tied comfortable even if it was with silk. Anyway, at least we’re out of that vehicle now.” Her optimism was slowly beginning to come back into force now, since things didn’t seem quite so bleak. Of course, Lindsay figured the vehicle was probably the least of their worries.
