"I thought you guys were all high-tech and your name would be Pax or Kepler or something." She told Miranda while walking up to order them some food. She chose a simple cheeseburger and asked Miranda what she wanted.
I need a one on one (CLOSED)
"I'll just have whatever you're having." Ainsley muttered, sitting down.
Alexa told them the order and paid while going over to the table Miranda sat at. "You don't seem like you want to be here."
"Well, this time period is a little underwhelming." she said, entirely truthful. Even Earth's past was considerably more interesting than this.
"Yea, we're boring. Tell me something I don't know." She went to get their food and drinks and sat back down.
"Well, there isn't really much to tell." Ainsley said.
She gave Miranda her food. "So there is nothing new about whatever century that you're from?"
"She asks the girl with a spaceship and tech that won't be around for centuries." Ainsley said sarcastically.
"Well, you did say that there wasn't much to tell." She said, ignoring the sarcasm in her tone that hurt a little on the inside.
"Okay, fine. You know how people hate it when given spoilers for movies? Same thing. Trust me, you don't wanna know your future." Ainsley said ruefully.
"I doubt that I'll live for four-thousand years and you are in the 60th something century or something not close to now. You might as well tell me." She responded before taking a bite of burgers.
"Still, I'm not allowed to tell you. Rules, very strict." she said. Ainsley noticed that the restaurant was too quiet. "We need to leave. Now." she barked, but just then, the doors locked.
"Shoot, how are we gonna leave?" She asked, dropping her burger and wrapping it again.
Before she could answer, Ainsley saw something. From behind the counter, the cashiers seemed to change. Into robots. One of them shot Ainsley, and she disappeared in a blue light.
Aisley woke up in the middle of a wood. The air tasted like the 1850's. Damn, temporal displacement gun. I hope that kid will get out of there… she thought.
"What the hell." Alexa muttered to herself. For a second, she believe that she was hallucinating until she remembered that Miranda was still not right next to her. The cashiers must've believed that she was also a traveler because they shot her as well. My head hurts so freaking much. She thought to herself. "Where the heck am I!" She yelled out into nowhere.
"Kid? That you?" Ainsley asked, hearing an almost annoyingly but at th same time relievingly familiar voice.
"Don't call me kid, I am way older than you. Also yes, it is me. Where on the world- when on the world am I? I think that's how I say it." She mumbled the last part more to herself.
"Actually,I'm older than you. Now hush, we're obviously in a forest." Ainsley snapped.
"How would you even know my age, we literally met an hour ago." She said, walking through the forest.
"Scanners. And I said hush, I'm not sure we're alone in here." Ainsley said.
"Still, if someone was still alive from the nineteenth century they would be older than me. It's the same way now." She whispered as quiet as possible, but loud enough for her to hear.
"In physical age, idiot." Ainsley hissed. "I'm twenty-five. And scanners say you're twenty-two. Capiche?"
"Fine whatever, just get me out of this place." Alexa responded in the same tone as before.
"I can't. I don't have my ship or the materials to build something that could get us away. I'll just have to hope that Simon will repair along with the ship's self repair mechanism, and get off his high horse long enough to rescue me. And you, obviously." Ainsley snapped.
"Why are you even flying around time and messing with it?" She asked while walking forward and off into the woods.
"Not messing with it, keeping it from being messed with. Call it penance of a sort. Now, 1850's. Earth. Not a good time for people of my skin color, so I hear." Ainsley murmured.
"So what are we doing now?" She asked looking through the woods.
"Finding civilisation. Or something. At least a roof to shelter us, something along those lines." Ainsley said.
Alexa walked ahead looking out for any types of building to show where they are. "Aren't those scanners a bit invasive?"
"No, just a basic scan. Seeing what your health condition is, heart rate, that sort of thing. It's not like I'm able to read your mind." Ainsley chuckled.
