"Incoming signal. From… my ship! Simon must have repaired, thank God. We'd be stuck without him." Ainsley said, looking at some sort of futuristic wristwatch that had a screen attached. "On the other hand, I'm not so excited he repaired. Stupid robot, he's really annoying."
I need a one on one (CLOSED)
"So, where is it now. I'm sure it's not hard to find two thousand pounds appearing in the 1800s."
"Huh?" Ainsley asked. "You mean the ship? I don't think it's here just yet. Simon's probably stalling just to be annoying."
"I thought the 4000 years later you guys would probably have change your language up some more than we did because we used to have some Shakespeare language and now we switched to contractions and you guys still have the same thing why is that?"
"Translator. Anything I say to you, you hear it making sense. Everyone has them, they improve international and interplanetary relations tremendously." Ainsley explained. "I don't speak a word of your language, yet I can understand you quite well. Just… technology is cool, in short."
"Wow, so there's a word for supercalifragilisticexpialidocious?" She asked before she saw some more people nearby in a small town.
"Wait, what was that last…. nevermind." Ainsley said, halting. "This is as far as I can go without being mistaken as a slave. We'll rendezvous…. somewhere around here, later tonight. Sound alright?"
"Yea, what am I looking for exactly?" Alexa asked, starting to walk backwards towards the town.
"Nothing. But you might want to get something to eat, find out if anything weird's been happening lately." Ainsley suggested.
"Ok." She said, heading towards a small shop. She asked for four honey buns, two bottles of water, and two colas. She took out some dollar bills, amazed at how much cheaper things were back then and put the rest in a bag. She also asked the manager for any strange sightings and he shook his head.
She left the store with the food and went to a hardware shop. Hoping the people didn't see anything. She got the same response each time so she took it as a confirmation that no one saw anything. She walked back to Miranda with the food and handed her her food.
"Thanks. Surprisingly good quality for the 1850's." she said. Ainsley looked into the distance. "Come on." she said, noticing a bright flash from afar. The sun was already setting, so it would be best to find a good place to rest, and also to figure out what that flash was before night fell.
"I could get us some blankets from a store nearby…" She suggested, gesturing back to the place.
"Sure, I just need to check something." she murmured, following the light to it's source, which was about a quarter mile away. A young woman with a bonnet covering her hair and ebony skin, along with big brown eyes and a rounded face, probably in her mid-twenties, was standing at the spot Ainsley had seen with lantern in hand. There were five disheveled people following her, their clothing ragged, dirt and soot covering their faces. "And who would you be?" the lantern woman asked. "Miranda… who're you?" Ainsley replied cautiously. "Why would I be a-trustin' you now, huh?" the woman asked. Ainsley noticed she had a knife in her belt. "Because I'm trying to escape. From…. you know." she murmured. Would this stranger trust her?
Alexa went back to town and tried to quickly found some blankets before dark. She went into a home shop and got two blankets for them and came back to where they were only to find out that Miranda wasn't there.
"Hmm. You look a little funny, but you seem honest enough. People call me Moses." the lantern woman said, offering a free hand. Ainsley took it cautiously, and shook it.
Alexa walked where she saw Miranda heading when she left. She heard some talking and stood behind a tree, watching thee interaction between her and another woman.
"Wait, Moses? As in… oh my goodness, you're Harriet! Harriet Tubman!" Ainsley said. "Keep your voice down, we're close to a town, for goodness sake! This is some of the riskiest territory!" Harriet said. "But yes, yes I am. I won't ask how you heard o' me, but I will ask that you stay quiet for now."
Alexa heard Miranda's exclamation and was in shock. She completely forgot about what was going on back then and covered her mouth, not wanting to be heard.
"Now, I-" Harriet began, but suddenly, the ground beneath them cracked open, and they fell into the bright light beyond. Ainsley let out a silent scream, her head was on fire, all her senses were burning-and then it stopped. She was lying down on cold stone floor, with Harriet and Alexa beside her, but the rest of the group gone. She saw something like a ditch, the type a train track would be in, and she looked around groggily. What had happened?
"What the hell." Alexa said to herself, rubbing her head. "We really got to get out of this place Miranda. I'm not trying to deal with whatever freaky, mess with time type of thing going on her."
"Well, we'll have to wait for Simon to get here. He'll be able to help us." Ainsley grunted, walking down along the tracks.
"So then what do we do when we're waiting for Simon? I'm not trying to walk down these tracks to find out where they go is to nowhere."
"Logically, they'd have to go somewhere. No point in train tracks that go nowhere, that's like crossing through Avis Port to get to Valdemar Two!" Ainsley chuckled. She looked over to where Harriet lay. The woman was stirring, she began to stand up, and looked around. "Now where in heaven's name are we!" she thundered, anger brimming in her gaze.
"I have no idea what Avis Port and Valdemar is but I'll act like I know it." She let Miranda know before Harriet got up. She walked on without them and thinking to herself. An actual underground railroad…
"I don't actually know, ma'am. They keep sending me where there's going to be trouble. Little did they know I'd find it on my own." Ainsley insisted.
(Hey, you there? You haven't responded for a while.)
(I completely forgot about the rp, I think I just didn't know how to respond)
(Ah, it's fine. Sorry.)
(no prob.)
Alexa looked back slightly to see if they would move. "Can you hurry up, I'm trying to get back home and I don't think your time managers will like me being here, possibly changing history."
