He looked at the caller ID and it was unknown so he picked it up and his phone to his ear, "Um, hello?" He said in a confused manner, not sure who would call him.
"You must be her accomplice. Go outside, but say nothing to Samantha or I might have to kill you." the voice said.
"What are you talking about, Miss? Who are you and why did you kill me?" He asked as he looked at Samantha and pointed at the door, signalling that he was going to leave, as he straightened his posture.
"Come outside. Now." the voice said.
"To where?" He got up and grabbed his coat as he went outside.
"We have a car ready for you. Come along." the voice said. It didn't sound male or female, like someone was distorting it. A limo pulled up and a woman in a suit and sunglasses ushered him inside.
He quietly sat down and looked around, as he held onto his knife, which he grabbed before he left, "You're kidnapping me, aren't you?"
"No, we'll bring you back later." the woman said. An hour later, they pulled up to an abandoned factory.
"Okay then, so what did you want from me?" He asked as he looked around.
"My boss wishes to discuss a few matters with you. He's waiting inside."
"And what are the matters about?" He got out of the car and went inside the abandoned factory.
"Samantha Dare." a dark haired man in an expensive suit said, revealing himself to Hayden. "She's…. important to me."
He turned to look at the man and resisted the urge to roll his eyes, "What about her?"
"You moved in with her a few months ago, yes?"
"Yes."

"And how is she?"
"She's good. Is that all you wanted to ask me?"
"As you can tell, she's… a little bit odd. I'd like you to keep an eye on her and report back to me. I can pay you a handsome fee, and you don't have to tell me more than you feel like, if some of what she does with you is…. intimate, so long as I can receive information on her." the man said, casually swinging an umbrella.
"Why would she want to be intimate with me?"
"Oh, you're not the first person who's asked me that." he chuckled. "But will you deliver me information, I can pay you a very large amount."
"Why do you want me to spy on her?" He asked.
"I have concerns for her. She doesn't trust me much, but she does seem to trust you."
"She doesn't trust me actually, and i'm not spying on her for someone like you."
"Pity. The offer is still available." he said. "Twenty thousand dollars a week, paid in cash or in your bank account, whichever you prefer."
