"Thanks. Nice hair." He said, pulling out his own flask of cognac for special situations. "Want some?" He offered, to the vampiress, while twisting off the lid.
"Yes please, and thank you" She replied, takingthe flask and flipping back her hair to reveal two bite marks on her neck. She took a whisk from the flask and returned it to him.
He took it, gingerly with both hands, making a little too much contact. Oh well. He turned, and hailed for some fine Brandy.

Ruby quickly got bored and left the tavern, as she walked down the streets she saw a dog, all along in the middle of the road. (Is this how it’s supposed to be? Correct me if I’m wrong.)

Akira perked up her ears, staring at the human after she had caught her scent. She stood perfectly still with her tail poised.
Ruby stood in front of it, it was nearly winter, surely the dog would freeze to death. Ruby was tempted to just leave it with a plate of fire and call it a day.
Akira cautiously moved towards Ruby, curious. She didn't know whether she could trust this human, but she hadn't eaten for a day or two. Hunting had been scarce, and people had started securing the lids of their trash cans.
Ruby digged inside of her bag. “What does a dog eat?” She said aloud, furrowing her eyebrows. She bent down taking a closer look at the dog.
"Depends where and how they live." Akira sat down a few yards (or meters for everywhere in the world but me) from Ruby, stretching her paws on the pavement.
“Woah what.” Ruby said, looking around. She looked strangely at the dog.

"See something new every day, hmm?" She came into the light. "My name is Akira, pleasure to meet you. I'd shake hands, but as you can see, I don't have any."
Ruby remained silent, in all years this is the first time she saw a talking dog.
"Cat got your tongue? Or should I say dog got your tongue? You humans do have strange sayings." Akira stretched, wagging her tail gently.
“H-how?” Ruby managed to say, still very much in awe.
"Taught myself. That is, if you're speaking about my ability to speak and understand my language. It comes in handy if I want to listen in on conversations. No one ever suspects the dog, do they?"
“You… would make a great spy… huh?”
"I suppose so, though I highly doubt I'd be paid. Unless it's in food. I would consider that ample payment."
Ruby chuckled. “Are you cold?”
"Not too much. I'm a husky, so I've got a fairly thick coat. It gets worse when it snows though. Then my fur gets wet and can even freeze if it's cold enough."
“Oh.”
