She tried to wipe it off with her thumb, but just ended up smearing it worse.

Fae took the cake out of the oven, setting it down on the table with the air of a magician revealing the correct card.
"Ooo," Cruz admired.
She grinned, handing him a large spoon. “Just take spoonfuls and we’ll be good, we have to eat it before the chocolate filling hardens.”
"Okay," he chuckled, taking the spoon.
They dug into the delicious cake. “Do you bake it cool often?”

"Not really," Cruz answered.
“As you can probably tell, I bake pretty much every day.” She indicated to the intensity on the corner and the pictures on the wall from baking events.
"Wow. Would have never guessed," he replied sarcastically.
She smirked, taking another bite if the chocolatey goodness. “I practically live in a bakery, our flat is just upstairs.”
"Lucky.." he humored, "I'd get fat off all this,"
“You, fat? Never!”, she joked. “Not with those muscles!”
He smirked widely, lifting his arm to pull up his sleeve and flex dramatically.
Fae smacked her forehead, laughing.
