"Hey, anybody want to come with me to get my tattoo?" Jordan asked, looking at the others.
"Sure," Ash volunteered.
"Cool," he said, smiling at Ash. "It's just a little bit down the street."
Ash gathered his things and stood up. "Shall we?"
He nodded, stretching his legs and checking his watch. "It's already 5:45 pm. I hope they're still open."
Ash shrugged. "I'm sure they will be."
He nodded, then started walking down the street, looking up at the sky every once in a while.
Ash followed, keeping his breathing steady.
He turned to look at Ash. "So… how has your day been so far?" he asked, his fingers sparking a bit.
Ash gave Jordan a side smile. "I've been with you the whole day."
Jordan blushed a bit, looking down at his shoes. "Oh, thanks," he said with a small smile.
Ash's smile grew ever so slightly and he looked ahead. "How about you?"
"It's been okay. I'm glad I finally got this burn taken care of," he said, gesturing to his arm.
"Does it still hurt?"
"Yeah, it does. But I'll swing by the pharmacy tomorrow and get the pain meds that my doctor prescribed for it." He looked down at it again, scrunching his brow. "It's going to leave one hell of a scar, though."
"It's one hell of a battle scar, look at it that way," Ash joked.
Jordan laughed, looking up at Ash. "That would've been a lot cooler than what it actually is."
"Shh." Ash put a finger to his lips. "I won't tell the real story if you don't."
Jordan froze, his face turning red. He wasn't sure how to react to the situation. "O-okay?"
Ash laughed to cover up the blush creeping into his face. "That came out weird. Never mind."
"No no, it's fine," he said, rubbing the back of his neck and looking away. He ran a hand through his hair, letting out a breath.
Ash mentally slapped himself. You idiot. he thought to himself.
He glanced over at Ash, clearing his throat. "Hey, can I have your honest opinion of the tattoo that I'm getting?"
Ash was startled out of his thoughts. "Yeah, of course."

"Well… do you think I should really do this? I mean, I've always wanted a tattoo but I've never gotten one because it's completely permanent. And I'd kind of like a second opinion before I get this."
Ash nodded to his arm. "Am I really the best one to ask?" he joked but continued. "There have been moments where I've regretted it, but all in all I'm still glad I got them."
Jordan nodded. The tattoo place was nearing, and he could feel his stomach filling with dread. "Oh god I think I might cry in the process of getting this tattoo."
Ash bit his lip. "I did."
