"Well, what would you be if i were king?" He replied, raising his eyebrows with a smile.
RP? One on One
"Y-your bride," a slight color rose to her cheeks, but she still smiled.
Jair opened his mouth, staring at her. What do I say?? He thought desperately. "Uhm…" He shrugged slightly. "But you wouldn't want to marry a nobody from another country. There's a bunch of far more capable people who would be a better king than me." He pointed out. Logic. Cold logic. That was the best route. If he tried to use the emotions her words had created…oh, he'd be in trouble.
She scoffed, "Please. You've seen the people who have proposed to me. You know how they treated me." she sighed. "Besides, I…" she trailed off before she would get herself hurt. He probably likes someone else.
Jair nodded. "Mm. That's true. But do you know the gossip that would happen from you marrying someone like me?" He shook his head. "Your court would probably say nasty things. Like saying they were probably already sleeping with each other, or so THAT'S why they were always together. And worse. I wouldn't want to hurt your reputation among your court."
She seemed slightly aggravated by this. "I don't care about the court. Despite what they say, it is my choice, and my choice alone, to decide who would be a good King. And slandering of the royal family is punishable, anyway."
"Yeah?" He shrugged slightly. Privately, he also knew that some of the slurs would be directed towards his status as mixed race, as well, though he didn't mention that.
"Hmm… Let's say that no slurs would be directed towards you while you were King, would you be interested in being… that?" She asked, hesitance showing through every action she made.
He raised an eyebrow. "Thisnis starting to turn…not joking…and I'm not sure how to reply." He said slowly.
"Heh, right. Forgive me." She turned away and avoided his gaze, completely embarassed. "Are you feeling any better?"
He chuckled softly. "Yeah, I'm good." He replied with a small smile. "You?"
"Yeah," she exhaled shakily. "D-do you want me to go?" She was looking for an escape route. Although she really wanted to be by his side, she was completely flustered
He glanced down at his hands. "I don't know. If you want to stay, please do."
She smiled and looked at him, her face still a bright shade of pink. "Then I'll stay,"
He raised an eyebrow. "Why are you bright red?" He asked.
She pointed to her hair, fully aware of what he meant. "You mean this?" She avoided the question. "Jair, I've always been like this."
Jair laughed softly. "No, I…" He shook his head, and reached up, tapping a finger on her cheek. "Your face."
"I don't- I have no idea what you're talking about!" She fidgeted around, trying to avoid his gaze. But she couldn't help but look at him every few seconds.
He raised an eyebrow. "Okay." He lay back on the bed. He realized belatedly that he was still shirtless. But oh well.
Kana looked at him curiously. What do I say? It's weird if I just stare at him like this… She looked over at his mother's painting again and thought about what she was like.
Jair sighed softly, folding his hands behind his head.
"What about the rest of your family?"
"I don't have any siblings, and…" Jair looked away. "My dad died a while ago. It's just me and my mom."
"Oh…" Kana looked at him, empathetic. "I'm so sorry, Jair." She felt bad for prying.
He shrugged. "It's okay." He replied, looking over at her.
(Hi, hello! i really don't know what Kana should say next??)
(hey! Lol idk either tbh. We could timeskip?)
(Y e s please. To when though?)
(maybe to when he's healed up? Idk)
(Alright)
Time skip
It's been a while since the attack, and Jair and Kana had fully healed. The wounds definitely left scars, however, and that made other people say that the Queen was weak and her guard was slow (Spicing things up!)
