The Andromeda (Pirate RP//closed)

Joanna chuckled at the compliment."So does that mean this ones a shooting star?" she said, pointing to her crazy eye. She looked at him, concerned. "Are you doing okay?"

Leah woke up to the sound of one of her crew members talking to her.
"Captain, we've made it to the Triad and we're sailing towards Sole." The young boy said.
She rubbed her eyes tiredly and pushed herself up, wincing at the pain in her shoulder. "Good, set course for Sole. How long until we arrive there?"
"About four days."
"Good," Leah replied, pushing herself up. "I'm going to check with the rest of the crew. If we run into anyone, I want the whole crew on deck."

"Yeah, of course," Daso replied quickly, "I'm great. Just worried about L –um, the captain."

She nodded. "Figures. She almost got captured. How did they know we were there?"

Leah walked onto the deck, calling out orders, her captain's hat shadowing her face further in the darkness. She tried to ignore the pain in her hip and shoulder and tried to walk with a straight posture, her chin tilted upwards.

"No idea," Daso replied, "my guess is they were watching for us. Who knows how long they've had it out for the captain?"

Morrigan swallowed. “Okay.” She fell silent. “Th-thank you.”

Joanna shrugged. Switching subjects, she asked him. "Have you been in the knives? I found a cheese knife with blood on it."

Morrigan nodded again, her responses mostly on autopilot right now. Her eyes traced over the countless scars running up Her hands, arms. There were even someon her face. She knew he could see how broken she was, all her walls had been broken down.

Joanna shrugged. Switching subjects, she asked him. "Have you been in the knives? I found a cheese knife with blood on it."

"No, not me," Daso said, concerned. He had a feeling he knew who it was, but he didn't want to give away her secret.

Joanna shrugged. "Okay, but the galley's locked when I'm not cooking. Just so nobody can get to them."

"Are you missing keys or something?" he asked. "Maybe someone broke in."

"No, I'm not. I saying that from now on, I'm locking the galley."

"Ah, that's wise," Daso said, "which is why I assumed you were already doing that." He made an exaggerated sad face. "Does that mean no more midnight snacks?"

She didn’t vwliev it fur a second. “Okay.”

Joanna smiled. "If you ask nicely, I might give you biscuit."

"And with that, you've made me fall madly in love with you," He joked, laughing again. His laugh felt different than normal but he forced himself to keep it up. "Biscuits. The way to a man's heart."

Joanna laughed too.

Daso turned back to the ocean, watching as the city lights faded and more and more stars appeared in the sky. He kept smiling, but he twisted his bracelet around his wrist to disguise his inner turmoil.

"Daso, are you sure you're all right?" Joanna asked. "You seem a little down."

He didn't say anything for a long while. He wasn't about to act all pathetic and expect her pity. His mother always said not to draw negative attention. "Um, sure, yeah. Tired, I guess. I got shot, you know," he said.

Joanna nodded, leaving it at that. "Okay. If you're tired, you should probably go get some shut eye."

"Yeah, probably," he said, nodding, "thanks." He turned and headed back to the cabin of the ship, his hands still tugging at the bracelet.

Morrigan obeyed, getting up and going to the door. She paused with one hand on the doorknob, turning around to look him in the eye for the first time that day. “Thank you.” She slipped out.
