Nico is intelligent with a good sense of humour. She has a lot of interests in common with Medea and the two get along very well. Nico is also good with words, and according to Medea, she "smells really good".

Because of her empathetic nature, she never hesitates to help those in need of it, treating all with warmth and respect. Even with this, she isn't without her flawed, quirky, and immature side, which is typical for my characters.

Something she shares with Medea is that Nico is unforgiving of anyone who opposes her sense of justice until they stop, even if there is a large difference in power. That shows when she attacks the demon possessing her father even though he was way stronger than an average human.

Though she is usually calm and compassionate, Nico has a hidden violent side to her when her short temper is brought into play.

She is also duty-focused, considering she choosing her duty as a princess over her love for Medea is what ended their relationship.

Nicoletta Argento da Firenze is one of Norrington's Desire's two central characters (along with Medea Norrington), being the protagonist of Under Pressure, as well as the deuteragonist of Under Siege, and Under World (along with the rest of the V7D). She goes by the nickname of Conquest.

Nicoletta is every bit as Italian as her name implies. At 27, this Florence-born gunslinger isn’t just the leader of V7D—she’s its founder, the one who decided that some people, no matter how broken or far gone they seemed, deserved a second chance. And she didn’t just say it—she acted on it. Nicoletta personally sought out three individuals who had hit rock bottom, saw potential still flickering in them, and pulled them back into a life worth fighting for.

Under her leadership, the V7D takes on high-stakes jobs—wiping out criminals, protecting high-value targets, and, more recently, dealing with the horrors who escaped from the Underworld… all while helping Medea chase down whatever she’s after in Italy.

Guns are her craft, her identity, and her calling. Ever since she began training at the age of fifteen, she’s mastered the art of precision shooting in every form: as a sharpshooter, a gunslinger, and a sniper. Missing a shot simply isn’t part of her vocabulary.
But why settle for ordinary weapons when she has Whisper? A gun she can summon at will, one that never runs out of ammo, never fails, never lets her lose. More than just a firearm, Whisper bends to her will, letting her control every bullet she fires.

She is eventually revealed to be the human incarnation of Laurel Nasuka, who created her to satisfy her insatiable desire to explore the outside world.

BACKSTORY:

Nicoletta Argento was born into a comfortably well-off family in Italy. Her father, a respected sportsman and environmentalist, provided everything his children needed—financially and emotionally—after their mother chose to walk away from the family.

Despite their comfortable lifestyle, Nicoletta was raised with deep care and a strong sense of values. Her father often took her and her brother along on his hunting trips, not only to show them the diverse beauty of Italy, but also to teach them how to survive in the wild if they ever needed to. These outings doubled as both bonding time and life lessons.

He also taught them the art of marksmanship, and both siblings quickly took to it. Nicoletta, in particular, showed remarkable talent. Over time, she and her brother each honed their skills in different disciplines, becoming sharpshooters in their own right. But their father made sure that skill didn’t come without conscience—they were taught to respect all life, whether human, animal, or nonhuman, and to always treat nature with reverence.

A week before her 15th birthday, Nicoletta received a strange and unforgettable gift: an old, rusted miquelet flintlock pistol—an Argento family heirloom said to have once belonged to a pirate captain named Giovanni Adolini. But the moment she touched it, something unnatural happened. The ancient gun reacted violently, disintegrating into her hand and fusing with her body. From that day forward, she could summon the weapon at will. She gave it a name: Whisper.

After finishing her university education with a master’s degree, Nicoletta chose not to settle into a comfortable job. Instead, she packed a bag and began traveling across Italy to see her country with her own eyes. Her father gave her just enough money to cover her first six months, believing she’d learn more about herself by standing on her own—and trusting she would.

One afternoon, Nicoletta Argento crossed paths with Yuki Strafford under bizarre circumstances. While visiting a convenience store where a friend of hers worked as a cashier, she walked in on a scene that made her stop cold: a young woman—barefoot, disheveled, clearly a vampire—was tugging insistently at her friend’s pants. The friend, to her growing embarrassment, was already halfway out of them.

But as strange as it looked, the situation wasn’t what most people would assume. Miyuuki wasn’t trying to rob the register, or the store’s usual merchandise. She was specifically trying to steal her friend’s pants—and nothing else.

Nicoletta stepped in and de-escalated the incident before it could spiral. Miyuuki ultimately got what she wanted—the pants—but only after Nicoletta made sure Yuki would pay her friend handsomely for them. Rather than disappearing into the night, though, Miyuuki took a deep interest in Nicoletta. There was something about her warm energy, her easy confidence, her ability to bring calm to chaos. On a whim—or maybe something more—Miyuuki begged to join her on her travels.

Nicoletta hesitated. Miyuuki was unpredictable, clearly a handful, and not exactly the type of person you invite on a peaceful journey. But Nicoletta saw something else in her too: raw potential. Between her vampiric strength, superhuman speed, and complete lack of hesitation in a fight, Miyuuki could be useful. So Nicoletta agreed—Miyuuki would be the first recruit in a project she’d only just begun to imagine: a traveling group with a purpose. She called it The V7D.

Sometime later, the two encountered Quincey in the underground world of Rome’s illegal fight rings. It was Miyuuki who first noticed him—impressed by his brawler’s instincts and thick-skinned durability—but it was Nicoletta who saw deeper. His raw power was undeniable, and his technique was brutally effective. But what shocked her was the cruelty he showed in the ring. There was no elegance in his strikes—just relentless force and the clear intent to punish.

After the match, Nicoletta approached him directly. She offered something unexpected: a second chance. A chance to use his fists for something better. To walk away from the violent underworld that had made him.

Quincey didn’t answer right away—but something about her tone stuck with him. He hadn’t believed in many things for a long time, but Nicoletta’s offer felt real. And so, for the first time in years, he chose something different.

Drawbacks:

• Bullet Type Still Matters: While she never runs out of ammo, Nicoletta must still choose the bullet type that matches her intent. This is especially true when using Conqueror Bullets or performing complex trajectory manipulation. Prolonged use can lead to magical fatigue, which manifests as physical symptoms: Nicoletta may become dizzy, slow to react, or even partially numb—a dangerous state in any combat scenario.

Cooldown,
Whisper’s more advanced functions—like bullet pathing, velocity modulation, or multi-target sequencing—put considerable strain on its magical infrastructure. After extended or intensive use, Whisper can overheat magically, triggering a cooldown state.
In this condition:
• Bullet manipulation is disabled.
• Bullet types are locked to Ghost fire.
• Shapeshifting is temporarily restricted.
Nicoletta must adapt tactically until Whisper stabilizes.

Delay,
While Whisper can shapeshift into any handgun form, each transformation takes exactly 10 seconds to complete. This fixed delay—neither quickened by urgency nor mitigated by practice—can leave Nicoletta momentarily underarmed or mismatched, especially in fast-paced encounters.
This delay is intentional: part of the gun’s design by Laurel, ensuring deliberate selection rather than chaotic swapping.

Binding to Nicoletta, Whisper is soul-bound to Nicoletta. If anyone else attempts to wield it, it reverts to a worthless flintlock shell, unable to fire or shift. However, this bond also makes Nicoletta susceptible:
 – Disruption via anti-magic fields, curses, or soul-binding interference can sever the link.
 – If this bond breaks, Whisper becomes inert, losing all magical properties until the connection is restored.

Human Endurance,
Whisper might be a magical handgun capable of military-grade destruction, and in Nicoletta’s hands—easily Italy’s most gifted markswoman—it becomes even more formidable. But Take away the firepower, or catch her in the wrong terrain, and Nicoletta is, by all accounts, still human. Exceptionally human, yes—Olympic-level athleticism, fine motor control refined by decades of training, and reaction times sharpened through countless real-life engagements. She’s graceful, smart, and relentlessly tactical. But her edge is sharpest in controlled engagements. She is not built to tank hits or hold the line in a brawl:

Her personal arsenal is also limited in scope, and unlike some of her teammates, she doesn’t have much in the way of natural resilience.


  • Miyuki, for instance, may be as fragile as any other human, but her vampiric regeneration compensates.

  • Quincey, while human, pushes the human limits of strength and durability.

  • Medea, with her semi-artificial biology, endures pain and damage at nearly superhuman levels.

Nicoletta has no such safety net. A single, well-placed blow from a powerful enemy could be the end of her.

That’s not to say closing the distance is easy.

She was raised by a huntsman, after all. Her knowledge of terrain, trap-setting, and battlefield control makes her a nightmare to pursue. Even without Whisper, she knows how to improvise with tools, tripwires, flares, and environmental hazards. She’s the kind of fighter who will bait an enemy into a bottleneck, collapse a ceiling on them, and leave before the dust settles. Add her team to the mix—each of them more suited to absorbing punishment—and it becomes extremely difficult for enemies to ever get close in the first place.

Still, the vulnerability exists.

Her lower stamina is a known issue. Nicoletta is great in short, decisive engagements—skirmishes, not wars. The longer a fight drags on, the more precise her breathing becomes, the more her movements economize, and the more telling it is that she’s reaching her limit.

But that’s where her brilliance lies. Nicoletta doesn’t fight battles she can’t win. She ends them quickly—or doesn’t start them at all.

Nico is intelligent with a good sense of humour. She has a lot of interests in common with Medea and the two get along very well. Nico is also good with words, and according to Medea, she "smells really good".

Because of her empathetic nature, she never hesitates to help those in need of it, treating all with warmth and respect. Even with this, she isn't without her flawed, quirky, and immature side, which is typical for my characters.

Something she shares with Medea is that Nico is unforgiving of anyone who opposes her sense of justice until they stop, even if there is a large difference in power. That shows when she attacks the demon possessing her father even though he was way stronger than an average human.

Though she is usually calm and compassionate, Nico has a hidden violent side to her when her short temper is brought into play.

She is also duty-focused, considering she choosing her duty as a princess over her love for Medea is what ended their relationship.

Nicoletta Argento da Firenze is one of Norrington's Desire's two central characters (along with Medea Norrington), being the protagonist of Under Pressure, as well as the deuteragonist of Under Siege, and Under World (along with the rest of the V7D). She goes by the nickname of Conquest.

Nicoletta is every bit as Italian as her name implies. At 27, this Florence-born gunslinger isn’t just the leader of V7D—she’s its founder, the one who decided that some people, no matter how broken or far gone they seemed, deserved a second chance. And she didn’t just say it—she acted on it. Nicoletta personally sought out three individuals who had hit rock bottom, saw potential still flickering in them, and pulled them back into a life worth fighting for.

Under her leadership, the V7D takes on high-stakes jobs—wiping out criminals, protecting high-value targets, and, more recently, dealing with the horrors who escaped from the Underworld… all while helping Medea chase down whatever she’s after in Italy.

Guns are her craft, her identity, and her calling. Ever since she began training at the age of fifteen, she’s mastered the art of precision shooting in every form: as a sharpshooter, a gunslinger, and a sniper. Missing a shot simply isn’t part of her vocabulary.
But why settle for ordinary weapons when she has Whisper? A gun she can summon at will, one that never runs out of ammo, never fails, never lets her lose. More than just a firearm, Whisper bends to her will, letting her control every bullet she fires.

She is eventually revealed to be the human incarnation of Laurel Nasuka, who created her to satisfy her insatiable desire to explore the outside world.

BACKSTORY:

Nicoletta Argento was born into a comfortably well-off family in Italy. Her father, a respected sportsman and environmentalist, provided everything his children needed—financially and emotionally—after their mother chose to walk away from the family.

Despite their comfortable lifestyle, Nicoletta was raised with deep care and a strong sense of values. Her father often took her and her brother along on his hunting trips, not only to show them the diverse beauty of Italy, but also to teach them how to survive in the wild if they ever needed to. These outings doubled as both bonding time and life lessons.

He also taught them the art of marksmanship, and both siblings quickly took to it. Nicoletta, in particular, showed remarkable talent. Over time, she and her brother each honed their skills in different disciplines, becoming sharpshooters in their own right. But their father made sure that skill didn’t come without conscience—they were taught to respect all life, whether human, animal, or nonhuman, and to always treat nature with reverence.

A week before her 15th birthday, Nicoletta received a strange and unforgettable gift: an old, rusted miquelet flintlock pistol—an Argento family heirloom said to have once belonged to a pirate captain named Giovanni Adolini. But the moment she touched it, something unnatural happened. The ancient gun reacted violently, disintegrating into her hand and fusing with her body. From that day forward, she could summon the weapon at will. She gave it a name: Whisper.

After finishing her university education with a master’s degree, Nicoletta chose not to settle into a comfortable job. Instead, she packed a bag and began traveling across Italy to see her country with her own eyes. Her father gave her just enough money to cover her first six months, believing she’d learn more about herself by standing on her own—and trusting she would.

One afternoon, Nicoletta Argento crossed paths with Yuki Strafford under bizarre circumstances. While visiting a convenience store where a friend of hers worked as a cashier, she walked in on a scene that made her stop cold: a young woman—barefoot, disheveled, clearly a vampire—was tugging insistently at her friend’s pants. The friend, to her growing embarrassment, was already halfway out of them.

But as strange as it looked, the situation wasn’t what most people would assume. Miyuuki wasn’t trying to rob the register, or the store’s usual merchandise. She was specifically trying to steal her friend’s pants—and nothing else.

Nicoletta stepped in and de-escalated the incident before it could spiral. Miyuuki ultimately got what she wanted—the pants—but only after Nicoletta made sure Yuki would pay her friend handsomely for them. Rather than disappearing into the night, though, Miyuuki took a deep interest in Nicoletta. There was something about her warm energy, her easy confidence, her ability to bring calm to chaos. On a whim—or maybe something more—Miyuuki begged to join her on her travels.

Nicoletta hesitated. Miyuuki was unpredictable, clearly a handful, and not exactly the type of person you invite on a peaceful journey. But Nicoletta saw something else in her too: raw potential. Between her vampiric strength, superhuman speed, and complete lack of hesitation in a fight, Miyuuki could be useful. So Nicoletta agreed—Miyuuki would be the first recruit in a project she’d only just begun to imagine: a traveling group with a purpose. She called it The V7D.

Sometime later, the two encountered Quincey in the underground world of Rome’s illegal fight rings. It was Miyuuki who first noticed him—impressed by his brawler’s instincts and thick-skinned durability—but it was Nicoletta who saw deeper. His raw power was undeniable, and his technique was brutally effective. But what shocked her was the cruelty he showed in the ring. There was no elegance in his strikes—just relentless force and the clear intent to punish.

After the match, Nicoletta approached him directly. She offered something unexpected: a second chance. A chance to use his fists for something better. To walk away from the violent underworld that had made him.

Quincey didn’t answer right away—but something about her tone stuck with him. He hadn’t believed in many things for a long time, but Nicoletta’s offer felt real. And so, for the first time in years, he chose something different.
