The anger she feels towards the dragons, and her need for revenge against them, motivates her. Her husband's death is a constant reminder of her and humanity's failures, leaving her wrestling with guilt. She'll do anything to gain vengeance.

When she isn't training, she enjoys reading, hanging out with her Chasers, debating with Tyfer, listening to her son, thinking, drawing what the world looked like before, drinking, and being alone.

Nyir is deadly calm and focused. What she lacks in flexibility she makes up for in intelligence and leadership skills. She's protective and loyal. She is never emotional, never cries, and hardly laughs. However, she has a secret sense of humor that can only be unveiled by the very few (or alcohol.) Her drive is a combination of suppressed grief, reckless abandon, and guilt over her husband's death. She wants to avenge him, but deep down she knows its impossible. But she'd rather die than never try.

Nyir has a major sweet tooth. She doesn't have one favorite food, considering she has only tasted chocolate once, and fruit a handful of times.

Nyir would be partial to small, unassuming animals, like a hamster or a fish.

Nyir uses a sword, but her most powerful weapon is her mind.

Yuu'mi's glasses and his favorite book lie untouched on her bedside table.

Nyir loves the dark rich brown of her husband and son's eyes.

Nyir is a Chaser. She observes beyond the limit, collects samples, and battles dragons.

Politics aren't something she focuses on, but her precarious friendship with Evera leads her to butt heads with the imbalanced Socialist ideology. She prefers a true Socialist society, and she doesn't care for inequality. However, she isn't vocal with her beliefs, sharing them only with her son.

Atheism. She at first believed in the God her husband did, but upon his death, it was like her rose-colored glasses shattered. Her faith gradually faded away.

Nyir has undergone the training and education required to be a Chaser and part of the education required to be a Researcher. She has a firm grasp on math, strategy, reading, writing, etc, and a basic understanding of the sciences and higher level math.

Nyir grew up underground. Her parents were both Scavengers, but they saw that she was special early on. She took accelerated courses, becoming the youngest to begin Researcher training. However, she soon realized she was more gifted at Chasing, so she switched careers. While studying to be a Researcher, she met Yuu'mi, a young and driven Researcher with a brilliant mind. They fell in love and married when they were both 20. They had their first child, Tasper, at 21. They passed twelve years in innocence and bliss, Nyir learning from her husband's hopeful nature and starting to see the world in a better light. That all came crashing down when they dragged her husband's disfigured corpse from the edge of the Limit.
