{The Favorite}

Emma was the polar opposite of her twin, Kelly, they hardly even look alike that fact alone made her cherished and put on a pedestal. She had long wavy brunette hair. Her skin was golden brown like milk chocolate with a narrow button nose and high cheekbones. She was traditionally pretty and was both loved and alienated by other children because of it. Her parents put her beauty pageants as a child and her mother was a former model. As a result, she had been dressed by the best from a young age and makeup on the daily.

In the pageants, she was compared to other girls on a monthly basis. At age 8, a pageant called the Junior Miss Pageant took place. There were separate age groups for each division and she won the youngest title in her division. She came in second for the next two years before finally winning it outright at age 12. Her parents spoiled her in return though.

Her mother was a stay-at-home mom but during these pageants, she would travel around to various contests and she would book fancy hotels to take her daughter around.

Guys liked her and girls were jealous of her. Her popularity grew and she became the center of attention for everyone she met, whether she wanted to be or not, she just wanted to be liked but the attention started to become suffocating. She was put on a pedestal so high that she could not even see the pain that was caused by other's admiration.

Her sister Kelly was already depressed for being seen as ugly and dumb and Emma wanted to help but didn't know how due to being separated from her as a child. She was put on a platform by herself, which led to her sister being more isolated from her
She did win but it came at a heavy price and it seems that she paid for it. Not in physical form but rather in her mind and her soul.

The girl who was once so happy and kind became a shell of her former self, it's said that she would not even make eye contact with others. Kelly wanted nothing to do with her and saw her helping as pity and condescending. Despite this, she felt a duty to her sister so she continued to help.

Years past and it got harder and harder to book the pageants and compete until she dropped out of them to focus on schoolwork. She actually did alright in her classes but never really made friends despite being popular, she was becoming talented in fashion design where she was out of the spotlight but can still do her passion

Her sister, Kelly became a delinquent and a junkie, she seems to have transferred her feelings of being isolated from her into her sister and only her sister. She never got over her sister leaving and started hanging out with the trash. Her parents were devastated when they found out and tried to salvage what they could from the train wreck that was their daughters.

She decides just to let Kelly do what she wants as long as she wasn't affected but her standing with the popular students, in especially dating the student council president and being friends with his sister, puts her at odds with her.

It started off as passive-aggressive sarcastic comments and little digs about her clothing and status but escalated quickly with both sides accusing the other of being "fake" or a "phony"

Their friends turned the two sisters against each other and now they were enemies, despite still never really be friends. She didn't hate her, she just didn't want to associate with her due to her sisterly hating her for leaving and vice versa.

She herself would have a decent enough high school career, she dated the student body president but he was too busy focusing on his own ambitions during their senior year and seemed to be interested in her
She's still more or less liked by the people that matter the most, her parents, teachers, and the rest of her family.
