Zyanya was born into the Tytrian royal family of Tabia. She grew up with Nakoa, the two were very close. They would compete in everything, training, education, etc. When she was seven and showed no signs of power, her parents assumed she had none. But when they were at dinner one night when she was eight, she had wanted dessert and her parents continually told her no. She managed to use her power to manipulate her mothers mind to get her dessert. It was terrifying, and no one knew what her power was. It took months for her mother to not be scared of her own daughter, and they hired a centuries-old, incredibly powerful, Seldra man to come help Zyanya train and control her power. The man said he had only seen power like hers once, and he began to train her. She learned how to wield it to her advantage and to control it. When soldiers from Ecra came to try and seize the kingdom, she was able to use her power on twenty people at a time, breaking down their brains and bodies. It drained her quickly though, and she couldn't leave her bed for two weeks afterward. With Nakoa gone, she felt incredibly lonely and began to search for him, but her parents said it was too dangerous so she was forced to leave it behind. She stepped into her role as heir, and when she was fifteen she would join her fathers captain of the guard to learn war strategies and how to prepare for an attack. When she was sixteen, she began joining meetings with older council members for political matters and what to do about the growing Winterbourne Empire and the fall of Sansora.
