Eira's mother, a Fae, had an affair with another Fae male. Her brother, William, father was a mortal. When Eira was born, her family knew she was different, and her father in a rage at her full-fae heritage left their family. Eira never met her real father. When she was three, her magic started to develop, and her mother knew she was too powerful for her own good. In Ecra, her mother didn't have the resources to get Eira a trainer and with no contact with Eira's father, she could get no help for her snow blessed daughter. Her mother was not blessed with magic and didn't know how to help her daughter, so Eira would have outbursts of magic. It would come out when she got too excited or upset or angry. Because there was no way to hide her power, Eira's mother had to hide her away from the world of people who wanted to hurt her. One night, Eira was sleeping in her mother's bed when she had a nightmare. She was seven at the time and easily got upset. In her sleep, her magic came out in a flurry and buried itself in her mother. Her mother froze from the inside, her heart freezing to a stop and her blood becoming ice. Eira didn't even notice until the next afternoon when Will walked in on his mother dead. Will was furious and screamed at Eira for hours. In a blind panic, Will contacted the only person who knew about Eira, his father. His father knew a place where Eira could go. Will and his father shipped her off to Estien a month after the accident. She was sent to a Keep, where other girls like her were. They all had power. She was taught how to control it and since their kind was being hunted by Ecran forces, to hide it and blend in with the humans. Eira was there for seven years, she had made a family with the other boys and girls there. No one judged her for what happened. She grew to resent her brother for sending her away, however. The day after Eria's fourteenth birthday, the Keep was raided by Ecran soldiers. Only two girls and two boys survived, Eria being one of them. She barely made it, it was a miracle she survived the healer her friend, Savannah took her to, said. She had been stabbed in her stomach with a dagger, she had lost a lot of blood. It had to have been whatever Gods looked after her wish for her to survive, was the only explanation. The four of the survivors hung low for months, making small earnings by prostitution and pit fighting. One day, when Eira was just barely 15, she got word that Verena, Adeline's sister was creating a group of skilled rebels and that William Hadley was one of them. Eria decided she would find him, so when she had enough money put together and the war between Vethea and Ecra had been won, she sailed to Ecra under the disguise of a tourist coming to partake in the festivites.
