Changes the tone of her voice slightly when she's angry or upset and trying to hide it. Though she can be a bit snippy and hotheaded at times, she has a softer side as well. She has a dry sense of humor. She can use bluntness as a joke and playfully touches. Around her friends or people, she cares about she (eventually, part of character arc) is able to let her walls fall down and really open up. She is affectionate with those she cares about but in ways such as playful teasing and lighthearted jabs.

She wants to reclaim her birth-right if only for the sake of others, wants to take down the Winterbourne Empire and the host of Underworld Demons that have infested her world. She wants to keep her friends and family safe and be free.

Her temper often gets the better of her and can make her lose control, she's hot-headed and often acts without taking into consideration her own life, she speaks her mind too often and will be bluntly honest. She can be snappy and temperamental, her moods constantly shifting, people find her hard to work with. She pushes down her feelings instead of confronting the truth, has major self-doubt but hides it behind a cocky attitude, she can be selfish at times because she craves the ability to be able to make her own choices, as she has always had to answer to someone else. She's impatient and stubborn. She has a hard time sympathizing with others. Morally grey. She relies on substances (alcohol) instead of confronting her grief.

Kenna was born into the royal Amaris bloodline, Saskia's second and last child. Saskia was only to have one child on demand of the Czar Kingdom far across the sea so that there would be no rivalry for the throne. So Saskia hid the pregnancy from everyone but her husband and her most trusted court members. Kenna was born and hidden from the world. A few children of these court members, such as Anahid Verbeck, knew of her, but that was it, and they were not to tell anyone. Despite being hidden away, Kenna lived a good childhood. When she was five, it became apparent that she had inherited Saskia's power of fire, but that it was different. Endless. A gods power. Much, much more than anything Saskia had. Ares, Kenna's older brother, began to resent his sister, and Kenna began to fear him. When she was six Ares held a dagger to her throat and threatened to slit it if he so much as heard a whisper of her on his birthday. He hated that she was more powerful than him. Around the same time, Saskia was able to detect Adeline Winterbourne's growing desire to rule all of Endora. Already nearly all countries in Endora had fallen to the Winterbourne Empire. When Kenna was ten, a battle broke out between Sansora and Ecra, no countries were willing to aid Sansora, and Saskia knew it was only a matter of time until they to fell to the Winterbourne empire. So she had a man gifted with raw magic put blocks on Kenna's memories and suppress her raging gift of fire and even glamour her pointed, Fae ears. The blocks and suppression nearly killed the man, but they managed to twist her memories so she would not remember her time in the palace, her parents, or brother. The blocks were too lift when Kenna was "of right age" which was supposed to be 20 so that Kenna could save them from the Winterbourne empire and take up her throne without having to carry the burden of who she was on her back at such a young age. Two days before Sansora fell, Saskia had Kenna put on a ship to Velaris, set her up to live with a woman who trained assassins so that Kenna may learn how to survive as a nobody in Ecra. Saskia wrote all of this in a journal, that she tried to hide, but was taken to Velaris when the palace was sacked. Kenna lived with Galan Deriyris until she was fourteen, and met Verena Winterbourne, Adeline's younger sister, and one of the heads of the rebellion. She saw Kenna's skills and hired her to live at the Keep with a group of other young prodigies. Kenna accepted, desperate to get out of Galan's clutches. Verena paid off all her debts and sent her to the Keep, where she began killing for a cause instead of just to pay off her debts. She became passionate about the rebellion, but with her powers suppressed and memories altered, she had no idea who she really was, and neither did anyone else. Adeline did not know of Kenna so Kenna managed to slip by Adeline many times, until Adeline read Saskia's journal, and figured out she had a daughter. One whose body was never discovered.

Kenna is a Seldra Fae. They are a branch of Fae. Where the Fae possess an animal feature to mark their race, the Seldra do not and can normally pass as humans despite their pointed ears. Like the Fae, Seldra are immortal, but where the Fae only possess the power of earth magic, Seldra can possess any type of elemental magic depending on their bloodline and heritage. Raw magic is also a trait that some Seldra possesses, which is all types of magic. Seldra is said to have been a descendant of a Fae and a nymph, but no one really knows where the line of Seldra came from.

The Dark World or UnderWorld is a hellscape where demons and other creatures live, ruled over by two different kings and two different queens. Healers could open a rift between the UnderWorld and Onia. When Adeline Winterbourne, a jealousy stricken ruler, finds this information, she takes advantage and opens a rift. She makes a deal with one of the kings to give her unmatched power in exchange to let demons from the UnderWorld into Onia and conquer it. Adeline accepts, being young and naive, and lets a small number of demons come through the UnderWorld and into Onia. Unknowingly, Adeline also gave up her body when the King granted her with dark power, and soon became a slave to the seed of darkness planted in her. She became someone else entirely and began answering only to the King she sold her body to. She becomes a mad Tyrant, working her way to claim all of Ecra as her own and to build up her army of demons, demons who can take the form of humans and Fae and Seldra and animals.
