Overview
Goblin
Goblins are described as being the 'eyes' of the elemental deities.
Goblins are attracted to dragons who display the qualities desired in their corresponding flight (such as endurance for the Plague flight, or craftiness for the Shadow flight). It is unknown what this attraction is for, but many who come across a goblin will end up making a familiar of it.
Elemental
Looks
All goblins share a similar body-plan in that they are bipedal creatures, having big feet and paws and a long tail. The appearance of other features, such as their horns and mane, vary depending on which deity they serve under.
Goblins stand at around 3 feet / 1 meter tall.
Traits
Goblins are elusive creatures, but those who have encountered them tend to describe them as neutral, being peaceful from afar but becoming hostile up close.
When it comes to dragons of interest, goblins are peaceful, but can get spooked if shown hostility.
Goblins make use of physical attacks which are sometimes amplified with magic.
Offense is the best defense for most goblins, but shyer species of goblin may instead just run away.
Goblins are highly intelligent creatures, being able to comprehend draconic languages but not speak them. This makes them troublesome to trap and work around.
Their reputation as the eyes of their deities also earns them some mercy.
Goblins are rather small in size, which means they can be easily overpowered by larger breeds of dragon.
When a goblin is killed, any magical aspects about it (such as a blazing goblin's fiery mane) fizzle out, leaving only the body behind.
Some dragons try to show off hunted goblins as a trophy, but due to their affiliation with the deities of Sornieth, this is generally frowned upon. Their meat is also tasteless.
Habitat
Comparisons
As goblins are said to be the eyes of their deity, it is believed that encountering and befriending a goblin is a sign of a strong allegiance of one's flight.
Reproduction
Very little is known about how goblins spawn, but rumors say that goblins are crafted by the deities themselves.
