Overview
Sprite
Sprites are the entourages of their respective elemental deity.
Sprites are a rare creature, known to only be around those with a strong affiliation to the elemental deities of Sornieth.
Elemental
Looks
Sprite come in all sorts of colors, but the color of each type match their element.
Sprites have a generally bipedal build with fairy-like wings and a tail. The appearance of such features and other decorations depends on what deity a Sprite pledges allegiance to.
Sprites are about as small as a Fae dragon.
Traits
Sprites are not known to be aggressive. Even when driven to use magic, sprites use magic in a defensive style rather than an offensive one.
Sprites use their magic to defend themselves. They can do this in a variety of ways, such as reflecting attacks or nullifying magic altogether.
Sprites, being closely aligned with the deities, are one of the most potent magic-wielding creatures in Sornieth. Their magic cannot be used to directly harm, but they have impeccable defensive use.
Sprites are also as intelligent as dragons are, able to comprehend languages and speak telepathically.
Most sprites are physically weak, but they often don't need to worry about this flaw since their potent magic makes up for it.
Sprites will communicate to one another with pleasant tweeting noises. When communicating telepathically with another being, they use the being's inner voice to speak.
When killed, sprites leave behind a 'depleted' version of their body, a form without elemental magic. 'Sprite husks', as some dragons call it, are worthless and might even have negative value due to the sprites' strong affiliation with the deities.
Comparisons
Because sprites are so closely tied to the Eleven, receiving messages or interacting with a sprite is considered as good as interacting with the deities themselves.
Similarly, killing a sprite is often considered a slight against the gods.
