Overview
Neyr
He is the third out of Agia's sons, and is often regarded as the archivist of Mordrasil. He is known as a Watcher deity alongside his brothers: an entity that roams the world protecting Agia's creations from those who would desecrate or destroy them.
Neyr the Honoured, the Watcher of Deserts
Appearance
In divine form, he takes on the appearance of a desert mule stag. His coat is pure white.
His mortal form takes on the appearance of a white-feathered vol with a few red accents on his face and tail. His head takes on more raptor-like features and will occasionally be seen wearing reading glasses. Both forms have eyes that glow with a divine golden light.
Family
Symbolism
Mortals look up to Neyr as an embodiment of truth and justice, but to this extent they also fear his wrath. Some also view him as a fount of ancient knowledge. Neyr is often represented with a lightning bolt, scales, or a sun.
Fire and lightning are seen as Neyr's elements.
Powers
Rituals
Many cultures (mainly those from the desert) employ the aid of Neyr when they try a criminal for various felonies, leaving them at the mercy of his judgment. Sometimes criminals approach Neyr of their own accord, hoping to atone or be forgiven for their acts. In either case, Neyr will have the criminal or accused be chained to a conductive pillar, and will then strike the rod with holy lightning. If the offender is unscathed, then they are either not guilty or will walk away with a lighter sentence--otherwise the offender is fatally electrocuted.
It is said that somewhere in the desert, Neyr has a library buried in the sands that is full of ancient archives and knowledge from the era of Mordrasil. Said library is supposedly full of traps as well. If one were to find and successfully navigate the library, Neyr would answer any questions the triumphant would have. Many have attempted to locate Neyr's library, but either return empty-handed or do not return at all.
Neyr is said to be the most unapproachable of the Watchers--taking his duties very seriously and is typically not one for humour. He does, however, occasionally take an interest in mortals who can hold an intellectual and philosophical conversation. While he won't outright admit it, he is able to and will enjoy being in the company of mortals. It is also rumoured that Neyr has a mortal lover.
