Maria blocked his bow with her forearm. "Unfortunately, I need him conscious for now. But help would be nice."
"Left," she murmured.
Maria blocked his bow with her forearm. "Unfortunately, I need him conscious for now. But help would be nice."
"Left," she murmured.
Clint drops his arms and leans down, grabbing the man's arm and hawling him up to his feet..
"Oh." Jackson takes a sharp left and the infirmary was right in front of them, "You have to be kidding me!"
Maria narrowed her eyes and looked him up and down. Blood from his hand was on his uniform and wiped on his face.
"Maria…" he said huskily.
"I don't want another word out of you or Clint will have all the permission in the world to permanently fracture your skull," she snarled.
He fell silent at once.
She smiled faintly. "Men suck at directions, right?"
Clint laughs appreciatedly at that, tapping his bow against his leg threateningly.
"No. That's just a stereotype. I'm good with directions just right now U am low key freaking out." He walks up to the desk, tells them the problem then follows the nurse into the er
"That's better," she spat. "Come on – walk."
He didn't move.
"He hit your hand, not your leg. Walk."
Kate stifled a groan as her wound flared up again painfully.
Clint snarls, grabbing the man by his shoulder and throwing him forward, "You take too long."
Jackson follows the nurses orders and sets Kate down on a movable, hospital bed and steps back.
The nurses take charge, plugging and inserting wires and tubes, "Her vitals are steady. Not good. But steady." One calls as a doctor walks briskly into the curtained area.
Maria smirked, for once grateful of Clint's impatience.
Clint pushes the man forward with his bow, "Keep walking. "
Jackson backs out of the area, walking to a waiting area at the front of the infirmary
Louis stumbled forward.
Maria strode towards the main doors, and her heart sank. There was Nick – blocking the way.
Clint grabs the man's collar to stop him forcably as he stands slightly behind Maria.
Maria lifted her chin and pressed her lips into a line. "Director Fury."
"Agent Hill. Agent Barton. What are you doing here? I told you not to send a rescue party."
"We were the rescue party."
Nick arched his eyebrows. "Really? And who's this?"
"Prisoner," she replied in a heartbeat.
"Oh we can call him a prisoner now?" Clint barks unhelpfully
Maria turned and glared at him. "Clint…"
"What?"
"Not helping." She turned back to Nick. "I'm sorry for going against orders, sir," she said professionally.
He sighed. "Technically you could get thrown out of S.H.I.E.L.D. for this."
She stiffened. See? she mentally told Clint.
Clint was snarling at the man and not paying attention.
"Bring him inside," Nick told Clint, looking at Maria with a side glance.
That made her stomach tie itself in a knot. Fired.
Clint nods, forcing the man forward with his bow
Louis stumbled the first few steps. He looked back at Maria.
She didn't spare him so much as a glare.
Clint follows close behind him, "Keep moving."
Once they were far enough away, Maria turned her gaze back to Nick.
"You disobeyed a deliberate order, Hill," he said, sounding concerned rather than reprimanding.
She inhaled sharply. "It was my daughter. I had to make sure she was safe."
The nurses back away after their work was finished with Kate.
(I dunno what to write XD
(XD I'll try and figure something out.)
Kate's eyes flickered open slowly. "Mmm…"
(It's fine lol)
Clint had taken the man down to to the brig.
Jackson was slumped over in the chair, fast asleep
Maria sat in her office, completely shocked. Nick had just left. His last words still rang in her ears: "I'm going to delete the navigational data from the quinjet. Why would I fire you? I trust you more than anyone else here." Her eyes were stuck on the door that had just closed.
Kate shifted. "Jackson?"
The nuslrse that was supervising Kate walks to her side, "Who's Jackson?"
Clint walls to Maria's office and knocks on the door
"Agent Barton's son."
Maria jumped for a second, then cleared her throat. "Come in."
"Do you know where he is?" The nurse asks politely.
Clint enters and laughs, crossing his arms, "I told you he wouldn't fire you."
"No." Kate leaned her head back and sighed.
She pressed her lips together. "It was lucky."
The nurse nods and leaves. She walks out to the rows of chairs and up to Jackson. They exchange quick words and she leads him to Kate's area.
Clint shrugs and laughs, "Really." He says sarcastically
