Kate waited in silence. "Quiet sucks," she muttered.
She frowned. "You're happy I almost got fired?"
Kate waited in silence. "Quiet sucks," she muttered.
She frowned. "You're happy I almost got fired?"
"Well silence is good to rest in. " Jackson says as he walls into the area.
"I never said that."
Her eyes flew open. "Jackson."
She looked out the window beside her. "Uh-huh…"
"Hey!" He waves slightly.
Clint sighs, "Now what though? Jackson handed me this." He holds up the drive
She smiled. "You're here."
She narrowed her eyes. "Can I see it?"
"Yeah. Where else would I be?"
Clint flicks it toward her to catch
"I don't know." She smiled at him. "I feel better."
She snagged it out of the air and plugged it into her computer.
"That. Is cheesy." He laughs.
Clint walks around behind her to watch
"It's true," Kate giggled. "Did you worry about me?"
She typed quickly and clicked around to open up different folders. Her jaw dropped open. Complete profiles of nearly every S.H.I.E.L.D. agent appeared on the screen. A new window popped up and started loading blueprint plans for weapons of mass destruction. "They were building a missile and we had no idea…" she mused.
"Meh… I knew you where fine." He smiles, sitting on the edge of her bed.
"Even after the war." Clint hisses, "Damn."
"Can't go anywhere for a while." She made a face.
Maria looked over her shoulder at him. "You think the war stopped for them?"
"Figured." He laughed.
Clint was silent. He looks around and bends over the key board, "Did they get a new tesseract (I spelled that wrong.)?"
She sighed. "Are you okay?"
(No, you spelled it right. XD) Her eyes darted over the plans. "Possibly…" she murmured, then looked over at him. "This is huge, Clint."
"Hardly." He sighs.
"I'm sure. How would a new tesseract be found? A new stone? Oh god. Not another Snap."
"What's wrong?" she asked worriedly. "Tell me."
A shiver ran down her spine at the mention and she visibly stiffened.
"Nah. Just tired." Lays sideways across the foot of the bed.
" Danm it. What if it is?"
"That's it?" She looked at him skeptically. "I don't believe you."
Maria pressed her lips together tightly and examined the blueprints without speaking.
Jackson looked up at her, " Heh?"
"What do you think?"
"I don't think you're telling the truth. What's wrong?"
"I think we need to stop them before that can happen," she said shortly.
"Like I said. I'm just tired." He rubs his eyes with his knuckle
"Well yeah. But where do we start?"
"Well, how are you from the mission? Any injuries?"
Maria didn't take her eyes from the screen. "I'm not sure."
"Nah. Just sore."
Clint falls silent
"I'm rather sore too," Kate replied, covering her laugh.
"Where is it?" she mumbled to herself under her breath.
"Really? I never would have guessed. "
"What?"
"Yeah, just a bit," she played along.
"I'm looking for some kind of valve or port where power from some kind of tesseract-like energy could be channeled to power the missile," she replied quickly, her eyes scanning over the blueprints rapidly.
Jackson rolls bus eyes, rolling on his side to face her.
"Oooh." Clint steps back, having no idea what to do.
She bit her lip. "So… some of the things that happened… I kinda forget. But some I have little snippets of… and I think I kissed you?"
Maria suddenly pointed to something on the screen. "There!"
"Yep. You did." He rolls back on his back and stretches.
Clint jumps and drops a file book thing. Papers t flew everywhere.
She blushed faintly, due to the amount of blood loss she suffered. "Y-You don't mind?"
"Dammit, Clint!" she snapped, gathering the papers quickly.
"No." He shrugs.
"What happened? What did you find?"
