Kate's eyes were closed – she had fallen asleep.
She released him so he crumpled to the ground. "Good talk." She dragged him back out and shoved him into a seat.
Jackson unconsciously starts to strike back her her from her face.
"So? Who was he? Clint turns around in the seat to see what was left of the doctor
"Mmm!" Kate moaned in her sleep. Her eyes opened. "Jackson?"
"Just a scumbag," she answered shortly.
"Huh? Oh sorry." He takes his hands away.
Clint turns back to the front, nodding, "I figured as much."
She sat up. "Did we fall asleep?" she asked tiredly.
Maria tried to shrug off the encounter. "How far are we from S.H.I.E.L.D.?" she asked.
"You did but only for a few minutes. " he chuckles.
"About ten minutes. " Clint sighs
"Oh." She felt the numbing pain returning. "Oh, Jackson…" she moaned painfully.
Maria pressed her lips together.
"Yeah? Just hang in there." He puts his already severely bloody hand back on the bullet wound for pressure.
"So. Who was that guy?"
Kate breathed softly, trying to focus on something.
Maria tensed slightly. "No one."
Jackson waits, "Kate?"
Clint rolls his eyes, "Everybody has a name. Start with that."
"Yeah?" she breathed.

"Doctor Louis Martin," she replied, a tad bit too quickly.
"You wanted to say something."
Clint raises a brow at her speed, "You know him?"
"I was going to ask you…" She hesitated. "Do you like me?"
Maria cursed herself. "He's… an acquaintance."
"You're being delirious. Of course I do. Now." He smirks
"An acquaintance?"
"I wasn't sure," Kate whispered.
"Yes," Maria replied shortly.
"Bruh." He smiles slightly
"Uh huh. Sure "
Kate giggled shyly, then bit her lip. She never giggled.
Maria looked shocked for the briefest second, then she tensed. "Why did you say it like that?"
Jackson stares at her, "What? Did you just laugh? Or giggle?"
"Because you're lying."
A slightly rosy tinge appeared on her pale cheeks. "Giggle," she whispered shyly.
She frowned. "You don't know that."
"Aw!" He snickers.
"I know you. Yes. I do."
Kate smiled faintly. Her eyes looked up at him.
She exhaled sharply through her nose. "Do you have to know?"
Jackson says slightly.
"No. But I want to. Because my son was also in danger. "
"Where's my mom?" Kate asked.
Maria pressed her lips together and closed her eyes. "He's Kate's father."
"Up with dad."
Clint nearly crashes the aircraft
Kate shrieked when the quinjet took a sudden drop. She grabbed Jackson's arm with her free hand.
Maria stumbled and slammed her shoulder against the side of the cockpit. "Dammit, Clint, what the hell was that?!"
"Its alright! ok!" Jackson calls.
Clint turns right around in the seat, "Her father?!"
Kate looked towards the cockpit. "What?"
Maria only winced.
Jackson stands but almost immediately falls.
Clint stares at her but shakes his head and turns back to the front
