"Jackson?" Kate moaned worriedly.
"Clint, don't look at me like that," Maria snapped warningly.
"Jackson?" Kate moaned worriedly.
"Clint, don't look at me like that," Maria snapped warningly.
"I'm fine!"
"Heh?"
"No, you're not," she whispered. "Tell me what's wrong?"
"I said, don't give me that look!" Maria repeated irritably.
"Dont worry about it." He waves his hand at her.
"What look?"
"Tell me," she demanded.
"That look!" Maria cried, pointing at him. "That accusing look!"
"What? I'm fine."
"It wasn't accusing. " He could now see the SHIELD base
Kate sighed. "Fine…"
Maria pressed her lips together.
Jackson nods and staggers toward the front, "Hey! What happened?"
"Alright. Here we go."
"Your father almost killed us," Maria replied shortly. She glared at Clint, daring him to say anything about Kate's father.
Clint was silent. Jackson sighs and nods, "Seems like him. What are you guys going to do? I know Furry didn't allow you guys to come."
Maria pressed her lips together and looked away. "I'll figure something out."
"Alright then." Jackson walks back at Kate and sits beside her.
Louis stood up and moaned.
Kate smiled at Jackson. "What happened?"
Maria leaned tiredly against the side of the cockpit.
"Dad tried to kill us. We are coming up to SHIELD. "
Clint seemed to be holding his breath as he circles the craft
Louis stumbled out and saw Kate. His gaze softened. "Hello, Kate," he said quietly.
Kate shifted, slightly uncomfortable.
His face fell. "Do you not remember me? Well, I can't blame you… I left when you were just a baby."
Maria heard his voice and stormed over to him. "That's enough."
"Mom, what–" Kate asked, cut off by an abrupt wave of pain from her wound when she tried to sit up.
Jackson was staring at the man. He puts his hands on Kate's shoulders, "Who are you?"
Before Maria could reach him, the doctor smiled and answered, "I'm her father."
Jackson chokes, "Nah! I'm not dealing with this! No!" He stands and walks to the front with his dad
"Jackson!" Kate cried.
Maria grabbed Louis' arms and pinned them behind his back. "I said, enough!"
Jackson sits beside his dad.
"Just met him didnt you." Clint asks as he lands the craft
Kate leaned her head back. Thoughts drowned her.
Maria dragged him back to the secluded spot. "You just had to…"
Suddenly he gripped her wrists and spun around to push her against the wall. He had her pinned smoothly.
"Dammit," she muttered.
He grinned slyly. "Tell me how we first met, Maria."
"No," she growled, freeing one of her wrists and slapping him.
Jackson covers his face, rubbing his eyes and snarling.
Clint lands the craft smoothly and stands, taking up his bow, "Maria?!"
Maria lifted her foot to his chest to kick him away, but when her leg was extended, he grabbed her ankle and pulled her forward. When she was off balance, he hugged her tightly to his chest. "You still love me, admit it Maria."
"Dammit!" she hissed. "Go to hell!"
Jackson followed his dad.
"Uh. Jackson. Get Kate out of here." Clint loads an arrow and walks toward the two, "Hey! Get back! Get away from her perv."
Jackson rushes to Kate and picks her up bridal style and opens the hatch
Louis only smirked. "Why should I? Legally, she's my wife."
Maria glared at him. "I am not your wife."
Kate's eyelids flickered. "M-Mom," she mumbled.
Clint tightens the bow string, "I dont wanna get physical buddy. But If I have to I will. She said to be let go."
"She's fine. I'm going to get you to an infirmary. "
"Technically, all she said was, quote, 'Dammit' and quote 'Go to hell'," Louis objected.
Maria scowled. If only looks could kill…
Kate moaned quietly.
Clint let's the arrow fly. It lands through the other guy's hand with a nasty thunk.
"Its ok. Hang in there."
Louis released Maria. She grabbed his collar and shoved him to the ground.
"Jackson… what will happen to my mom?"
Clint runs over to them, raising his bow as if to smash it over that man's head, "Do you need help getting him put of here?"
Jackson spun in a circle, lost, "Uh. She'll be fine. My dad us with her."
