(gtg now, sorry. Good night!)

He frowned a little bit, biting his lip. "Well…Torchwood might not be as bad as the other two." he replied slowly, checking. "We don't want the expensive one, as neither of us is going to make enough money. Unless you actually want me to become a stripper. Which, no."

(Good night!)
"No, I'd become a stripper before I'd force that on you," Tohru joked.
He sighed a bit. "But no, I agree. Let's scope out Torchwood."

@ElderGod-Icefire

Davin chuckled softly. "That would be entertaining." he replied with a smile. "And alright." he took a picture of the Torchwood advertisements.

Tohru blushed. "Well… that's the idea of being a stripper, isn't it?"
He bowed his head down and pulled up an area map with directions to Torchwood.
"This way," he said.

@ElderGod-Icefire

He grinned. "It is indeed." he replied, shaking his head and laughing as he followed Tohru.

“After we figure the whole housing situation is figured out, I take it we should look for work then? And maybe get something to eat while we’re at it,” Tohru suggested, “Hm… hopefully this district won’t be too intolerable. At least we’re not living alone.”

@ElderGod-Icefire

Davin nodded. "Yes, yes, and yes." He replied with a faint laugh. "We also need to see if it comes with any furniture, or if we need to buy some."

“I hope we don’t have to,” Tohru muttered, “That’s so much more work than necessary.”

@ElderGod-Icefire

Davin chuckled. "Yeah. But we really only need what…a bed or two? And a table?"

"Of course, but still," Tohru sighed.
He tilted his head, still fixed on his device, then he looked up.
"Should be a few more blocks, straight ahead."

@ElderGod-Icefire

Davin shrugged. "So long as we keep those in decent condition, we can sell them when we leave." He replied, then nodded. "Alright."

"Yes, but that's assuming we don't have to leave suddenly," Tohru said.
He set foot into Torchwood first. There wasn't any drastic change first walking into this district, but he was sure there was more than met the eye. He kept an eye on the building numbers so he could find the apartment building.

@ElderGod-Icefire

"Hmm. True." He replied with a nod, walking with Tohru. He ran his hands through his hair, making sure to keep the cloak solidly covering his head.

Tohru hummed softly to himself as he scanned his eyes over the streets and the buildings. There wasn't anything obviously wrong with the place, he just felt apprehensive. Maybe just because he'd been told this was a "bad" part of town.

@ElderGod-Icefire

Davin stayed silent as he walked with the bounty hunter, eyes narrowed a little bit. He checked the address of the apartment that was available, making sure they were going in the right direction.

"Hm, are we going to have to cut back through one of these alleyways to get to the right street?" Tohru asked, seeing that Davin was checking on something, likely the directions.
He kept walking, just so that anyone from the outside would assume he knew where he was going.

@ElderGod-Icefire

Davin squinted a little bit. "I don't think so?" he replied slowly, shaking his head slightly and putting away his device. "I think we're good if we continue along here for a bit."

“It seems like a bit of a maze once you diverge from the main street, just looking at it,” Tohru commented, “Not to mention those ways look… not very well-lit.”

@ElderGod-Icefire

He nodded a little, letting out a faint laugh. "Yeah. But it's better than the other available areas." he responded, shaking his head.

@Becfromthedead group

"Allegedly," Tohru laughed.
He walked ahead, and this part of the street began to fade from shops and restaurants to apartment complexes.
"One of these?" he guessed, examining the building numbers as he walked.

@ElderGod-Icefire

He chuckled softly. "Yeah, I think so." He replied with a nod, scanning the buildings carefully for the correct one.

“Ah, there,” Tohru said, pointing to the building with the correct number sloppily painted on it in old chipped red paint.
“Looks cozy,” he teased.

@ElderGod-Icefire

He laughed. "Ah. Doesn't need to be comfy, though. Just… workable." He shrugged his shoulders.

“Yeah, I don’t care as long as I can sleep and shower. Let’s go inside.”
Tohru led the way. The lobby was lined with old musty carpet and wallpaper that was peeling back. It smelled vaguely of mildew.

@ElderGod-Icefire

He chuckled, and nodded. He wrinkled his nose at the scent, but didn't comment on it as he walked down the hallway.

Tohru glanced around and found a bell that said ring for assistance.
He rang it and waited for any sort of response. When he didn't get one, he held his breath for a moment.
"Hello?!" he called.

@ElderGod-Icefire

Davin was silent, bowing his head a little to hide his features a bit more. He let out a breath.

After a minute, a little old woman came out. The landlord.
Tohru cleared his throat.
“Hey, we read about an apartment available here and we’re interested in renting it. Is it still vacant?”
The landlord nodded.
“There’s a little paperwork to fill out, and I’ll need a deposit, but otherwise, I should be able to get you moved in by this evening.”

@ElderGod-Icefire

Davin offered up a quick smile. "Thank you." He said to the woman, shifting a little bit, careful not to let the hood fall from his head. Technically, he couldn't be refused as a renter just because of his species, but…he'd run into trouble before, just because he was Kaythani, and he wasn't eager to repeat that.

Tohru nodded.
“Alright, sounds good. We appreciate it. Does the place come furnished, or will we need to go out and buy things?”
“You’ve got a sofa, coffee table, a bed, and a nightstand. Anything else you’ll have to take care of yourself.”
“Right. Thank you.”
“Here, come to my desk. I can have you fill these forms out, and as soon as you do that and get me that deposit, I’ll give you the keys.”
