Tohru bit his lip.
"You're away from him now," he soothed, "And I swear I would never hang anything over your head like that. In fact… I-I've been thinking about our living situation. And if you ever want to part ways, or if you want to split as soon as we leave this planet, you are more than free to."

@ElderGod-Icefire

Davin nodded faintly, taking a deep breath. "Yeah. Thanks, Tohru." he said, giving the bounty hunter a faint smile.

"I'm sorry you had to go through that," Tohru said, "But I seriously promise to protect you. I-If anyone tries to pull that ever again with you, you've got me on your side. I may not look that intimidating, but I-"
He stopped himself. Was he coming on too strong?

@ElderGod-Icefire

Davin nodded a little bit. "Yeah. Thanks." he replied, giving Tohru a faint smile. He didn't quite know what else to say, though he really appreciated Tohru's words.

"Of course," he replied, "It's lonely out there. We might as well have each other's backs."
Tohru smiled back.
"I'm not really one for fate, but maybe it's fate that we met. I think we both needed someone we might actually be able to rely on, even if for just a short time."

@ElderGod-Icefire

"Yeah, maybe. I mean…technically you were hired to hunt me down for the rebellion, but." he laughed a little, smiling over at Tohru.

"Hey, I changed my mind," Tohru laughed back, "Some things are more important than money, you know. Might not expect that from a bounty hunter, but it's true."

@ElderGod-Icefire

"Mm. Yeah. Thanks, though, Tohru. It's…nice to have someone with me." he smiled again, looking over at the other.

Tohru's brown eyes widened a bit as Davin looked over him.
"Yeah, I agree," he said, "It's been pretty damn lonely. I'd be lying if I said otherwise."

@ElderGod-Icefire

He nodded a little bit. "Yeah. I think I've gotta agree with you there." he smiled happily.

"Actually, I have a little confession to make. I haven't really made any friends that I could fully confide in since I lived on Drestia, and, well… I've never been fully invested in a romantic relationship, really," Tohru said, "I don't know if I'm incapable of attachment, or if I'm just scared of having to part ways. I never really stuck around long enough to find out."

@ElderGod-Icefire

Davin looked at him carefully, nodding slightly. "Ah. Well, I guess we can figure this out together, then." he replied with a soft smile.

"It's… nice to hear you say that," Tohru admitted.
Even if he's just saying it to be nice…
"I can't help feeling like my time was wasted. I really just wanted to make money so I could live comfortably somewhere, but… plans change, I guess. I missed out on a lot, I think."

@ElderGod-Icefire

"Maybe, but you're still young. You've got plenty of time for friends, falling in love." Davin replied. "It's not like you have to hide what you are like I do. Besides, I think you've got plenty of potential."

Tohru swallowed.
"Yeah, I guess so," he said, "Thanks for that… I just… I know there were opportunities along the way. I just never took them. I think it's more of a regret than a feeling that my life is over and I've gotten exactly nowhere."
He sighed softly.

@ElderGod-Icefire

"I get that, Tohru. I…feel like that a lot." he replied. "And…now we're both here, yeah?"

Tohru nodded and smiled a little.
"That we are," he replied, "It's actually quite funny that we're bonding over loneliness, of all things."
He tilted his head to the side.
"It's nice to have someone who understands. Someone who doesn't give unsolicited advice or tell me to put myself out there more."

@ElderGod-Icefire

He hummed faintly, nodding slightly. "Yeah, of course." he replied, smiling at Tohru.

As the two drew closer to town, Tohru asked, "What exactly did you want to get while we were out?"

@ElderGod-Icefire

"Oh! Uhm…I don't know, just…stuff to make our place more like a home?" he suggested, raising his eyebrows a little and shrugging.

"So like how I always like to put art on the walls?" Tohru questioned, "Or a soft rug that feels nice to step on?"

@ElderGod-Icefire

"Yeah, exactly!" he replied, smiling over at Tohru. "And little knick-knacks and fun designs and stuff. Maybe some paint, too, for the walls?"

group
@Becfromthedead group

"Yeah, that sounds like fun!" Tohru said, his smile growing brighter, "Did you have any colors in mind?"

@ElderGod-Icefire

"Hmm. I don't really know. Nothing too dark, otherwise it makes the whole room look really dark and that's gross." he made a face.

@Becfromthedead group

"For sure, plus it makes rooms feel smaller. How would you feel about a pale blue or green for the bedroom? Those tend to be calming colors. Or did you prefer something brighter?" Tohru suggested.

@ElderGod-Icefire

"Those sound fine." Davin replied with a quick nod, looking at Tohru and smiling.

"Great. You're welcome to input some ideas too. Do you have any favorite colors?" Tohru asked, "Oh yeah, and we should probably get some curtains for the bedroom as well, right?"

@ElderGod-Icefire

"I like blues and greys." he replied with a shrug, smiling a little. "And yeah, maybe some curtains would be great. Light-blocking ones, to help keep it darker inside?"

group
@Becfromthedead group

"Yeah, exactly," Tohru agreed, "It'll probably help us sleep better."
He paused for a moment.
"So would you like to do the bedroom in blue?"

@ElderGod-Icefire

"Yeah. Maybe a medium blue? Not too dark, but not super light, either." he suggested.
