Sterling laughed and flicked her nose. โIt was just payback, sweetheart.โ
๐๐ป๐ฒ๐ฟ๐ช๐ฝ๐ฎ ๐ก๐ ๐ฆ๐ฒ๐ฝ๐ฑ ๐๐ช๐ฌ๐ด๐ผ!
"Payback for what?? What did I do??" She pouted dramatically.
โOutside, Cassandra,โ Sterling laughed again. โFor what you did outside.โ
"I didn't do anything you didn't deserve." She smiled a little.
โHm, I guess thatโs true. But it was still payback.โ
"Mhm, sure. Now will you ever let me go?" She blushed a little harder noticing he was still holding her.
Sterling winked before releasing her. A few people called for an encore, but he just rolled his eyes.
She just blushed with a slight smile and sat back down. "Doing such a thing in front of everyone, how bold of you." She chuckled.
(cough)
(Sorrysorrysorry!)
Sterling chuckled and shrugged a bit. "What can I say? I'm a daring guy."
"I can see that. Just don't get me in trouble with your daring deeds, will ya Daredevil?" She chuckled.
"Of course not," Sterling promised, grinning at her. "I wouldn't dare."
"Good. Let's hope it stays that way." She smiled at him.
"As long as I have a say in it, it will," Sterling said seriously. "I would never purposely get you into trouble."
Her smile softened into a grateful one. "Aww, how considerate. What did I do to deserve someone as sweet as you?"
"Well, for starters, you kissed me," Sterling teased her with a wink.
"That doesn't mean you had to accept it." She shot back playfully.
"But I did. You're not telling me you regret it now, are you?" Sterling asked as he raised an eyebrow at her.
"Of course not! Why would I regret kissing the cutest guy in school?"
"Well, I mean, you could certainly have done better," Sterling said with a shrug. "But thanks."
"Mhm. Sure. Whatever you say, love." She rolled her eyes.
Sterling snorted at her, and he was about to respond when he was cut off by the headmaster. Again.
"Well, now, students, I assume you're curious about the mystery this year," he started, looking around the room.
Her eyes snapped to the center of the room, remembering why she was here in the first place.
"You will each be receiving a packet of information, which you may only open in a private place and only with your partner," he said, giving hard looks to everyone. "On the top is your name and your partner's name, so they will lot get mixed up."
She rolled her eyes, yeah, like a bunch of college students were going to listen to that.
"We will know if you show another person your packet. Don't ask how. If you do show another person, your pair will automatically be disqualified."
Well damn, that's harsh. She raised an eyebrow but said nothing.
Similar accusations were being thrown up at him, though they quickly died down after the mic squealed.
"You will understand when you open them, I assure you. As for now, I will leave you with this: Trust no one."
I already don't trust anyone. I'm an assassin, not trusting people is basically my job. She chuckled. This was going to be so easy.
He left as soon as the owes a were out of his mouth, and another professor passed out he folders.
"This is going to be interestingโฆ" Sterling mumbled.
