"It still hurts but we're getting there." She had a limp and was a bit slow but at least she could walk. "Can you get a couple of tins out of the cabinet? It should be the one above the sink." The stainless steel sink was as black as the cabinets around it. The kitchen was definitely in a black and white theme while the living room was more of a light pastel with the white couch and loveseat, light brown coffee table and bookshelf, baby blue rug, and plants in the same baby blue containers.

"Sure, of course," Sterling said, making his way over to the cabinet she had indicated. He reached up and opened it, then grabbed a couple of the cans before handing them to Cassandra. "There ya go."
(I have a secret passion of describing rooms and picking colors. I think I was an interior designer in my past life.)
"Thanks love." She smiled and opened them, placing the food in the small bowls on the floor in the corner as the cats ate it up hungrily.
(Lol. You do a good job! I hate trying to describe setting.)
Sterling smiled back at her, wrapping his arms around her from behind and holding her close to his chest. "What do you want to do now?" he murmured, resting his chin on her shoulder.
"Hmmโฆnot sure. I've still got some things I need to work on for class so I should probably do that."
"That might be a good ideaโฆ How much do you have left?" Sterling asked, kissing her cheek.
"Only a little bit. I just need to finish typing up a paper."
"How long do you think that will take you?" Sterling wondered, nuzzling her cheek gently with his nose.
"Maybe 20 minutes? I have to revise my essay if I truly want that A." She shrugged.
"You know that school doesn't actually start until Monday, right?" Sterling murmured, his warm breath sweeping across her cheek.
"Pretest exams suck." She shuddered slightly, God he was distracting.
"Yes, they doโฆ But you have over a week before you have to take them," he reminded her, kissing her cheek again. And again. And again, as he made his way down to her jaw.
"Yeah but my theater teacher said we could write the essay early and be ahead so I just did it."
"And you can finish it later, can you not?" Sterling muttered as he kissed down her jawline now.
"I suppose I can." She smiled a little.
He stopped when he reached her neck, hesitant to go any further because of her bruises. "Shall we move from the kitchen, then?"
"Where to?" Her smile brightened a little.
"Hmโฆ I was thinking I'd like a tour of your apartment. Possibly ending with your bedroom?" Sterling murmured against the spot of skin between her chin and her neck.
"Hmmโฆfine." She chuckled. "Well you've already seen the living room and kitchen. The bathroom is down the hall and the door on the right and my room is on the left."
Sterling chuckled a bit. "Do I need to carry you again?"
"Only if you want to."
"Are you trying to be difficult?" Sterling wondered, slowly turning her to face him as his gaze flicked down to her lips and then back up to her eyes.
"I'm whatever you want me to be." She smiled innocently.
Sterling hummed before suddenly picking her up, wrapping her legs around him. "Good to knowโฆ"
Her legs tightened around him, wrapping her arms around his neck to hold herself in place.
Sterling leaned forward and kissed her quickly before starting toward where she had said her bedroom was. He walked down the hall and pushed the door open, then closed it when he'd stepped inside.
Her room was small but cozy. The bed was pushed against the wall with a couple pillows and a gray comforter, a dark brown desk in the corner in front of the window, a laptop and a couple books on top on it. The closet next to her bed was also small but held what she needed.
Sterling barely glanced around the room, intently focused on Cassandra. "You have beautiful eyes," he murmured as he slowly stepped toward the bed.
"That's what I've been told. Multiple times." She chuckled.
"Hm. Well, that's probably because it's true," Sterling chuckled deeply, finally reaching the edge of the bed. He laid her down gently, hovering over her as he chewed on his lip a bit.
