"No, I'm slightly crazy, I actually hear voices when I'm just home alone with them. I swear I'm not insane."

“Do you live in an apartment?” Sterling asked.
"Yeah. Just a small one in town."
“Well… You might be hearing your neighbors, then.”
"They're never home though! Every time I hear the voices, it's when they're not home!"
“Very strange… I wonder what it is…” Sterling hummed curiously.
"Don't know, don't care. They don't bother me, I don't bother them."
Sterling nodded. “That sounds like a good plan,” he chuckled.
She sighed. "I just want to get home."
Sterling frowned a bit, sighing. “I know you do… But would hat do anyone any good? Would he leave you alone if you just went home?”
"Every home an assassin buys will be fitted with security measures to protect them from anyone, including another assassin if the homeowner feels they are in danger because of them." She recited from memory.
“Oh… So I guess you would be safer, then, huh?” Sterling said softly. “Well, then… Maybe you should go home…”
No matter how much I hate thinking about you leaving…
"But…I don't want to leave you here alone."
“And I don’t want you to leave, but I would rather be lonely and have you safe than have you by my side and knowing that you’re in danger.”
"Or…you could come with me? I know that means forfeiting the prize but I just don't want to be alone anymore…"
Sterling smiled and kissed her softly. “That’s fine with me. I don’t really need it, anyway.”
Her smile brightened. "Then we should probably go say we forfeit, right?"
“I suppose we should!” Sterling exclaimed, his smile widening until he bent down and pressed another kiss to her lips.
"Once again, I remind you that I can't walk."
“Yeah, I know. That means you can’t srive, either… Did you get a ride here, or did you drive yourself?”
"I walked, actually. It's why I was late, I got lost."
“You… walked… You just walked?” Sterling asked, giving her a slightly disbelieving look.
"I don't have a car, my friends were already here, and I'm too awkward to take the bus so I walked."
Sterling hummed, nodding once. “All right, then… We’ll take my car.”
"Then let's go, shall we?"
“That we shall!” Sterling declared as he stood and swept her up with a grin.
She laughed softly. "Off we go my noble steed!"
“I thought I was your knight in shining armor,” Sterling joked with a chuckle as he stepped out of the cabin and started toward the headmaster’s office.
The office was quiet with only the sound of the ticking clock to break it. "Hey there guys! What can I do to help you?" The headmaster smiled warmly.
Sterling smiled back politely and shifted Cassandra in his arms. "Unfortunately, we are going to have to forfeit the game, sir. There's something we need to deal with, so we have to go back home."
