Shai Ren lived her life as most of her kind did before the arrival of the dragons, protecting the people around her and living her life, when she met Frun and was bonded to him she didn't think anything of it, but over the years they both fell into true love with each other, it is likely they would have even had children together but the moons took him from her and Shai Ren, decided that she would rather be with him again in the next life than continue with out him and swore off all further bonding and began the long process of dying, slowly withering away. Likely this would have been her end but the Mirothii of the village she lived in introduced the young girl Arlena to take care of her and make her passing comfortable, eventually the girls joy for life and constant optimism broke the vampire of her melancholy and pushed her towards staying alive at least until Arlena passed, when she met Christopher and saw how the two interacted she remembered how she had felt with her last bonded mate and pushed the two join together, it came as a massive surprise to the silent protector when after Arlena's wedding ceremony in the comfort of their new home Arlena and Christopher held a more private ceremony in which all three where bound in a traditional Mirothii way
