Sci-Fi RP with my character Ellis (CLOSED)

(Ellen: Aaaannd the ship is sailing
Me, exasperated: Child, really!)

Ellis: Lordy…)

"Fine. Just fine. You know there's still some things to talk about? Right, love?" It had been meant as a demonstration of what he'd said, but it sounded like she was actually calling him that. "Y-you know what I mean." God, I'm getting so flustered.

Ellis nodded. "Do….you want-to….discuss that…now?"

"Maybe after we buy the hat." That discussion can wait. Forever.

"O….Okay dear." wHAT ARE YOU DOING? MAKING IT WORSE?

She sighed. "Like I said, later." Mari poked his chest and shook her head.

Ellis squeezed her hand a bit. "Okay. Let's go get that hat!"

"Yeah!" She fought back the urge to laugh. Buying a new hat with Ellis. Weird.

Ellis pulled her across the square and over to the indicated cart.
An older man with a long, shaggy white beard turned and smiled at them, his ocean blue eyes twinkling. "What can I do for you two? A ring perhaps?"

(Ellen is currently rolling on the floor cackling. She's got nothing better to do since I'm waiting for Which_Path to get back.)

"Oh, we're not here for a ring. Because we're not getting married. And we're not dating. Nor are we romantically involved. No. We are friends." Mari let go of Ellis' hand, blushing profusely, her brain fried.

Ellis coughed. Rejected….again….she hates me.
"Yeah she needs a new hat."
Sam nodded, which was a miracle with all that beard. "I have just the thing!"

"That's great." Mari stole a glance at Ellis, her own face as red as a cherry.

(Yay! I only have a bit hurry)

Sam rummaged through a couple of crates and pulled out a dark brown hat. "Here ya go! Try it on!"

"Thanks!" Mari pulled the hat onto her head, looking towards Ellis for approval.

"It matches your hair nice!" You look adorable…

"Thanks, Ellis. We'll take it. How much?" She pulled out her wallet, fumbling through it with her large gloves.

Ellis got his own out.
Sam scratched what must have been his chin under all that beard. "Twelve bucks! And I'll throw in this ring!" He held up a simple silver band.

"W-we don't really need the ring." Mari took out six dollars, staring at Ellis. Marriage is a bit too far.

(Ellen: Are ya sure?
Me: Child, for pete sake, you're 12. You have no clue what you're talking about.)

Sam glanced at him. "Ya sure?"
Ellis pulled out his half. "Eh….I'll take it I guess."

"What for?" She asked, handing the money to Sam.

"I don't know. It's pretty? I love silver?" Ellis took the ring and dropped it in his pocket. "Thank you sir."
Sam chuckled. "Don't mention it! Have a nice day!"

"We could sell it," Mari suggested, walking next to him.

"I kinda like it." He took it out of his pocket and examined it.
