Red grew up around the castle. His mother, Genesis, worked as a handmaid for the princesses. King Amias and Queen Raine never had a problem with Red playing with their daughters, thinking it would be good for them to be familiar with the common folk if they were going to rule for themselves and Red and Abilene were even the same age.

After the deaths of Abilene and Raine and Amias’s choice to restructure the defense system, Red was offered to receive training to watch over the prison abroad. He accepted and after six years made enough money for Genesis to retire to the city.

Red is very protective. He doesn’t set hard boundaries on his relationships because they want them to come to him with any problems they have. He gives all they could ever need because that was exactly what his mother did for him. His arc centers around learning his own importance despite what everyone needs.
