He can create and manipulate ice. Though he has a much higher tolerance to ice than normal, frostbite can affect him. Lake also can’t freeze thin air, only tangible substances like water, dirt, and flesh. He also needs to be in contact with what he’s freezing. He also has weapons training.

Security of the citizens of Cainhorn

Lake grew up in Whitdrift with his little sister Anna. When Lake was 12, the day before Anna’s 10th birthday, their home and the entire town were destroyed by forces yet unknown (the Cosmos- Nova and Hex). Chance allowed them to escape- well chance and Anna’s hiding skills. They lay low until forces from Draya came to assist Fawynne’s waning military.

The mission King Amias was given was to confirm all enemy forces were gone so that researchers from Silith could then come in to do a full investigation into the massacre, but he didn’t report Anna and Lake to his allies. Instead, he took them back to the castle and gave them a home. He trained them to command branches of the royal military.

Lake took over domestic security, specifically for those outside the royal family. He’s never really felt comfortable using their ice, not like Anna uses her poison. They just never thought of it as a part of him. He’s also never gotten over that mental block from freezing up when Whitdrift was destroyed and leaving their sister to deal with the fallout.

Their arc will be about learning to trust himself again. He panics when he’s left alone, but the battle to come will force them to face that head on.
