Gwendoline was born into Lewison house during one of the most prosperous times for her country, consequently she spent much of her youth enjoying a spoiled life as queen to be, once she took the throne she spent a large amount of time on social, political, and educational reform that made her people quite happy, however it left her army quite lacking, which as far as she was concerned wasn't a problem with a nigh unassailable mountain range cutting her country off from the rest of the continent at large and the only immediate threat coming from the Taizan's who hadn't managed to stop warring with each other in at least three hundred years. However she would be proven wrong when a powerful Taizan mage would open a portal allowing a unified Taizan Federation to pour into the heartland of her country and rapidly take her capitol and force capitulation
