Nature
It's against his nature to be prejudice, but he occasionally says uninformed things about other races out of ignorance.
Link is the most skilled swordsman in all the land, and an expert bowman. He is very resourceful and pragmatic in battle, and is knowledgeable enough about weapons to be able to wield several different kinds efficiently in a pinch. Although he doesn't realize the true extent of his powers, Link has the ability to temporarily slow down time when he is in focus, and he has such an affinity to nature that he is able to easily befriend wild creatures. He is also an expert with home-brew medicines and enhancers, and can brew an elixir to cure most minor and some major ailments.
sword-fighting, archery, horseback riding, motorcycling, playing the lyre (even though he's not very good at it), dog training, and drag queen competitions
Sweet, good-matured, soft, and charmingly dorky
Link almost has two separate personalities in that he can be both stoic and quiet, and rambunctious and fun-loving. In the past, he was more of the former in an effort to not draw attention to himself and betray his shortcomings, but his true personality is the latter, even though he tends to revert under pressure. His true self is very compassionate, courageous, and empathetic, and he has a genuine love for other people. He is the type of person who is willing to give the shirt off of his back, and he has a great love for those who can't protect themselves, namely animals, nature, and children. Although he is handsome and a very good man, he is naturally silly and a bit of a dork who often finds it difficult to navigate through many social customs, including romance.
Link is motivated to help Zelda bring Hyrule back to its former glory, as he feels it's his duty as it's Champion.
Link suffers from alcohol and drug addiction and feelings of unworthiness. Even though he is a bonafide hero, he has debilitating issues with his self-esteem, and his courage can often lead to recklessness. When too stressed by his environment, Link becomes non-verbal, much to the frustration of everyone around him. He often struggles with expressing himself, and can be easily mislead and taken advantage of.

History
Link was born to his middle class parents of Sir Rupert Link and Odessa Link, and was trained to fight since he was three years old after his father received a vision from Hylia that he was chosen to be Hyrule's next hero. All was well until his mother was killed by a monster when he was eight, and his father snapped and absconded with him to Hateno Village where his training nearly quadrupled. Every year since he was five years old, his father took him to see the Master Sword that he would one day wield to pray for courage, but after his mother died, his father began to force him to pull the sword, nearly costing his life.
When Link finally did pull the sword at the age of 15, he accidentally murdered his father with it, an action that traumatized him for the rest of his life. Not long after, Link joined the Hyrulean Army and quickly became a rising star due to his skills. He was knighted after saving Princess Zelda from a malfunctioning Guardian, and eventually was named the Hylian Champion. Although his relationship with Zelda was frosty at first, they eventually warmed up to each other and fell in love. His love for her was so strong that even after he lost his memory of her after spending 100 years recovering from his nearly-fatal injuries, he was still driven to rescue her.
Link never had formal education except for in reading, writing, and basic math, but he was extensively trained in weapons, namely one-handed swords, and battle to prepare for his role as the Hero of Hyrule.
